Terrible service. My date a I sat down at 7:30. It was pretty empty, with just a few tables occupied. We were cramptly seated at a small table next to the other customers despite the place being empty and were given one menu to share.
The atmosphere started calm and perfect for a date. However, it took over 30 minutes for a waitress to take our drink/water order. We finished our drinks and had to wave the waitress over for refills and an appetizer. After we finished our second round of drinks and water pitcher, I had to go up to the hostess counter after 9 pm just to get someone to take our food order. (Mind you, we sat down at 7:30.) Right then, the lights dimmed and blinding disco lights popped on. My date and I suddenly found ourselves in the middle of a loud foreign language karaoke party. It was the wildest, most sudden change in the atmosphere that we were not told about or expecting.
I ordered the lobster ravioli. 6 ravioli that were not great cost $24. I couldn’t see my date and could not have a conversation with him due to the lights and loud music. We quickly ate the sub par food within the first song and left for something better and still hungry. Of course, we had to go up to the hostess counter again for the check.
Service was terrible, I wouldn’t even give it one star. Had there been anything on the website, posters hanging up or been told about how it transforms into a club, we would have chosen to eat elsewhere. It was a terrible way to waste your money. Also, the bathroom smelled like urine. It was such an...
Read moreGreetings My Foodzies, last Saturday we went to a new restaurant in Elmwood Park at 7440 w North Ave. this location has house a few different restaurants now it’s Blue Fire Restaurant. The manager Volodymyr was very pleasant, welcoming and he was also our server. The restaurant is dark with a macabre, medieval look with water glasses in a goblet form, with wood ceilings sprinkled with fake moss; chandeliers and torche wall sconces, and several TV throughout. The front has a warm inviting heated fireplace dining area. The menu is quite voluminous with a wide range of foods with no focus on any cuisine. The menu has everything from sushi to pasta which burgers and steak. We began with Arugula Fusion Roast Beef which was a little bland, but with adding parmigiana cheese and red flake pepper it was good. We had rigatoni in vodka sauce with chicken. It tasty, the chicken was moist and tender. Beef Stroganoff; it was served over mashed potatoes instead of the traditional wide flat noodles. The beef stroganoff was very flavorful and surprisingly worked well with the mashed potatoes. I ordered the carbonara which was good but it was prepared with bacon (which wasn’t crispy) instead of quanciale or pancetta also it was in an Alfredo type sauce. Carbonara is prepared with crispy quanciale, pecorino Romano cheese and an egg that is stirred in at the end then finally a sprinkle of parmigiana. All in all I give this restaurant 4 stars. As usual please try it out and let me know what you think. Ciao...
Read moreI had came in with a friend for a girls night. When we had got sat no one had offered us water and or bread which everyone else did have. We did then have a younger male come over and ask to take our order I asked for water and bread then, along with my drink and appetizer. He ignored what I said brought back our main drinks and appetizer. We had gotten the calamari and it was sub par. I have had many orders and this was the worst one i’ve had very rubbery and no flavor. Then we had placed our food order asked for bread again this time he brought it along with our pasta now at this point who wants it with the main course. We then wait till he realizes he had never given us silverware this whole time. Never does. As he’s about to walk away we ask because not even did he realize. The pasta was good but that was thankfully the only good thing otherwise it would’ve been more of an issue. The owner was at the table over and did not want to interfere with a meeting it looked as he was having. To do this behavior in front of the owner when you just opened as a business is messy. I believe a customers first experience is supposed to be the best and set the bar, this definitely did not. Will be my first and last visit. Also the bathrooms for being a “classy” restaurant are horrid it smells like a dirty bar worse then some of the gas station bathrooms i’ve been in. Pee in the garbage can, Old moss decorations growing literal mold. This is a restaurant not a...
