Declining Quality and Rising Prices at Gringo and Blondie
I have been a loyal patron of Gringo and Blondie for quite some time, and the food has always been top-notch. However, my past two visits have been disappointing, and I feel compelled to share my experience because I love this restaurant and want it to succeed.
Firstly, the to-go salads have significantly decreased in size—they're less than half the size of the dine-in salads. I recently ordered two salads with steak and just three slices of avocado, which cost me $50. Instead of the usual tortilla chip strips scattered throughout the salad, we received about three small tortilla chip pieces. The value for the price just isn't there anymore.
Secondly, I used to love ordering the street corn, but at nearly $10 for a single cob, it's hard to justify the cost. The portion doesn't match the hefty price tag, and it's disappointing to see this favorite become overpriced.
On a positive note, the service is always great, and the staff are genuinely friendly. They consistently do their best to enhance the dining experience. However, the trend of disappointing dishes and continuously rising, very high prices is hard to overlook.
I hope the management takes note of these issues because Gringo and Blondie has the potential to be fantastic again. Until then, I find it difficult to return given the current value...
Read moreMy recent visit to Gringo & Blondie Taqueria proved to be nothing short of a delightful culinary expedition. The star of my meal was unquestionably the torta, a genuine masterpiece that tantalized my taste buds with its sublime flavors and high-quality, perfectly marinated meat. The bread, too, was unparalleled in quality, contributing to the overall excellence of the dish.
Complementing the torta, the rice and beans were meticulously prepared, boasting authentic, hearty flavors. The portion of steak was just right, satisfying without overwhelming, showcasing the careful attention to detail this establishment prioritizes.
Beyond the food, the cleanliness of Gringo & Blondie Taqueria stood out, offering a comfortable, welcoming environment. The staff’s excellence further augmented the dining experience. Their attentiveness was showcased as I was checked on three times during my visit, ensuring all my needs were met.
In conclusion, Gringo & Blondie Taqueria stands out as a must-try dining destination. From its exquisite food to its impeccable service and cleanliness, it promises not just a meal, but a remarkable...
Read moreOne big negative is the service. We have come to this establishment twice. Have say both outside and inside. The first time we ate here we were sat outside, it took over 15 minutes for a waiter to come to our table. From that point on, the waiter cane by a few times to check on our table. He ended up getting the drink orders messed up and late. Other than that he was nice but obviously overwhelmed and in a hurry. The most recent time we went, we sat inside. The waitress was very off putting. She acted bored and annoyed (I understand she could be having an off day but it did make an impact on the quality of service). While the food was being made, she did not visit our table once. After the food came out, she delivered it and didn’t come back. We finished eating and waited 10 minutes until we called her over and asked for a check. Focusing solely on the food, it tastes pretty good, I would recommend the carne asada tacos or birria pizza if you do decide to come here. The lack of service makes for a bad experience and lessens the appeal to go back but the food is...
