I'm not sure if this is how Hooters conducts it's business or if this is one of the most poorly ran establishments I've ever had the displeasure of dealing with.
Me and wife came here to eat one afternoon because my sister gave us a $50 gift card. This card did not expire nor did it even display an expiration date. Our food came to about $53. It was nothing special. Normal wings and some curly fries. Greasy and not impressive but essentially they were free so I didn't complain. When it came time to pay, the waitress brought us the bill and I told her I had the gift card. She took the card and came back shortly saying that the card didn't work. I called and confirmed that they was money on the card. I requested someone else that could help and a black guy, late 30s, came out and told me that sometimes the gift cards don't work. I just said, ok and waited for him to provide a solution. He knew there was money available, he knew it hadn't expired, but he was not willing to do anything to help. I asked him what should we do and he suggested we just pay. I told him that paying isn't a problem but in that case I would like a replacement card that actually works OR since he knows that the machine is not working and that is the store's problem then he can find a better solution. We spent about 10 minutes kinda just standing there and no one willing to budge. I had my wife there and I don't like to make a scene so I just paid and we left. No apologies, no customer service number, no help whatsoever. It was an embarrassing experience and I doubt management cared. They didn't want people using gift cards and they got what they wanted.
Side note: I'm not ignorant to the fact that people who tend to "flip tables" get the most help and usually a solution is found for that person. It seems like when you try to speak like a human being and come to am agreement you are met with more resistance. I was not willing to let that happen so I...
Read moreTo whom it may concern, I visited your location in Melrose Park, Illinois, My concern is the 18% service fee that was added to my bill, while me and my family (party of 7 ) was there dining my neighbor came in, he spoke and waited with us until his companion arrived (No more than 7 minutes) The waitress (Diana) shared with our group that since it's a party of 8 or more we will not be able to split the check and there will be a service charge added to our bill, at the time we didn't pay much attention because we were enjoying our meal. When I counted I noticed there was only seven of us, we attempted to have a conversation with Diana and she said yes the guy sat at your table briefly and drank some water, we asked if we can speak with the manager which she brought GM Joel to us and we express our concerns with him, he said he confirmed our neighbor did in fact sit at the table and consume water, at that time my neighbor was still in your establishment with his companion at a table about 12 ft away from us (and I'm pretty sure while I'm writing this message there's a possibility they're still there.
Hooters, I think its pretty obvious that this was a successful attempt to take extra money from your customers. Normally I would not waste my time to send messages like this, but I think this was a blatant tactic to deceive your customers.

Read moreIf I could give 0 stars I would!!!!! I placed a phone order to this facility at 6pm. I was told to come in 20 minutes for pick up for 40 wings. I made it to the location at 6:20 and paid for my food at 6:23. The manager who took my order only charged me for 30 wings so instead of my food being ready when i arrived i now had to wait for my additional 10 wings. I stood and waited and waited and waited and wondered why everyone in the restaurant was leaving before myself and another guy. Finally I see 2 orders placed off to the side because the bagging area was too full. I watched and continued to wait but now I have been here for over 30 minutes. I asked the cashier to check the names of the orders that were sitting off to the side and as clear as day 1 of the orders were mine. Finally I get my food after waiting for over 30 minutes I get to my car and guess what???? There are only 30 wings instead of 40. Now I have to go back in a wait for an additional 10 wings. At this point I have been here for an hour. I will never come to this location again. My mom had a similar experience when they took money off her gift card and wasn't able to refund it. Not even the manager. I am over this location. As a customer if you see anyone standing for over a certain amount of time, investigate and get to reason why. Had i not said anything about the orders sitting off to the side I'd probably still be standing there now. This...
