It’s been over a year that I came! I used to buy gift cards to icebergs for every birthday party we were invited to because I wanted to spread the word and have families come and experience a wonder evening at a ma and pa shop that I had really liked. I also brought everyone here for a treat on special days. I can’t say how many families I’ve brought here of gifted cards to this place of business. But on may 9th last year the owner…. Who person in charge of socials decided to be rude and try to call me out publicly for being broke one day and trying to make do with my kids who just wanted icebergs gelato. I went without and used what I had left which was enough for one cup of a 3 scoop ice cream that I gave to my kids. Trying to say yes to kids who don’t know the struggles of like and poverty I was facing. Trying to keep things normal when our world had just been flipped upside down. I’d like to point out that I didn’t ask you to separate anything in the cups but I did come back in and ask for a few extra cups and spoons. I would have appreciated a polite no! Not a bashing on social media. As if not already down in the dumps but your post was very unnecessary. Kindness cost $0 . I am not even upset that you wished to charge me more but did I deserve a post to publicly humiliate me? Imaging walking in my shoes and thinking I’ve found a great family place… a place I felt like I could go when the world was already unkind to me then to go home and see this very place...
Read morePROs: Friendly service. Gelato was great! Free samples and several flavors to choose from. Limited front parking but plenty of parking on the square within walking distance. A slight Italian country style flair with outdoor seating. They're expanding their business with coffee. I hope the coffee is available when I pass through town again.
CONs: Compared to other gelato establishments (River Market area) Iceberg's cost is on the high end for 1 scoop in a cup and a cone is extra cost. There didn't appear to be dine in seating. However, in the Northland this place appeared to be the only one that served gelato. Although the sign states est. in 2014 this is my first experience since 1997 of...
Read moreAhhh my little Italian obsessed heart was so happy to stumble across this place. I had the vanilla, and while I was grateful for the Gelato, it wasn't entirely like that in Italy. In Italy, the texture is almost more "chewy". This kind of just tasted like rich ice cream. I love the fact I saw vanilla bean flecks in there though! I'm pretty stringent on vanilla flavor, and I WAS gonna knock a star for the the vanilla taste being bare, but using vanilla bean powder or anything other than the extract takes a bit more to get a true, warm vanilla finish. All in all, I love the place. They were very helpful and patient with my blind friend and she ADORED her non fairy treat! She said it...
