Incredibly disappointed. First, although it was slow and there were several employees on staff, we were ignored for nearly five minutes before getting seated. The hostess seemed very annoyed when she finally sat us. The first booth she took us to was covered in food - table, seats, floor. We asked for a rag or a different table. Either she didn't speak English or she was just plain rude. She ignored our request and glared. We finally just parked at the also dirty, but cleaner booth next to it. The server gave us all of two seconds before asking our food and drink orders, then seemed annoyed when we asked for a moment. She asked again about three minutes later. We were able to provide our drink orders, but as neither of us had been to a Jose Peppers in many years we still needed time to decide on our meals. We didn't see her again for about 30 minutes. When we did get to order, we were stunned that there was no customizing orders as everything was "pre-made". I thought this was a sit down restaurant? Even Taco Bell can customize my food or at least leave out ingredients. We didn't get to finish placing our order, as our server was interrupted by a trainee and just left mid order. When my boyfriend got his silverware out, his was filthy - as if it had never been cleaned. He asked for a new set. It didn't come. While waiting forever for our "pre-made" food, I went to use the restroom. The doors didn't just not lock, the locks didn't even come close to lining up with the latches.. this has to have been a problem for some time. The restroom appeared to have been very neglected - I'm not sure if it had been cleaned the entire week. Trash, sanitary products, and bodily fluids everywhere. I'm praying the staff (especially cooks) have a separate facility. When I came back from the restroom, something stabbed my foot as I sat down. Looking underneath the floor was littered with used forks, knives, napkins, and food. Again, it was slow and we'll staffed.. why was nothing cleaned or tidied up?? When we finally got our food, we had no silverware. After checking mine, they were equally as filthy. We went through a total of five sets before getting clean ones - between two people. We also had to get them from a different server because ours wouldn't speak to us for more than two seconds before disappearing for long periods. Although, due to the filth of this place I was leery of eating my food, I was starving. I took three bites and couldn't finish as the only flavor was salt. We paid our bill and left, which we should have done from the beginning, but again we were hungry and it was getting late. We didn't bother with the manager because we already felt unwelcome, it clearly would have taken forever like everything else, and what good would talking to the manager do? They must already know how their place is being run, and must not have a problem with it. This was utterly disappointing and disgusting. Don't waste your time, energy, or money. You want Mexican or Tex Mex, go...
Read moreWhere to start......after having been stuck in the home with COVID the last few weeks, this was the place of choice to get out and enjoy some margaritas on a 100+ afternoon. Arrived and went straight to the bar. Bar has approximately 6 people there and the remainder of the place was busy but not packed. Staff seemed adequate but busy tending to patrons. We were not greeted in a professional manner by "David" but only asked what we were drinking. He came back with the two drinks minutes later and forgot both waters ordered. Salsa/chips followed soon thereafter with an order for the cantina nachos placed. We watched the other patrons at the bar receive their food before us, all of which were ordered after us and we continued to power thru the salsa provided. After a number of minutes waiting on nachos, I asked "David" about them and he stated that they should be ready. He then came back and indicated that "they had burnt them when being prepared". Needless to say, they soon arrived and were absolutely horrible. We then flagged him down for another round of drinks as we watched him focus on other patrons at the bar.......either way, his focus was not remotely on us. We decided that this kid needs to focus on a new role in life as bartending is not his gig. We left a 10% tip and wished him well going forward. Just going to say that this will be the last visit I make to this place. There's better food and service for the price out there and I have no desire to purposely put myself thru...
Read moreMy daughter and I dined at Jose Pepper's in Liberty this evening. We were seated quickly. Once we were seated, no one came with chips and salsa, no one came to get our drink order. Quite a bit of time passed and I noticed a server spending a lot of time on the table right behind us. Eventually, this delightful young girl named Stela came by and asked if we had been helped yet. We told her not by a soul. She said this isn't my section but I don't like to see folks wait so I'll take your order. I asked who our server was supposed to be and she said the man that was waiting on the table behind us. As she was taking our order, this man came up behind her and stared at us. She didn't know he was there and we continued giving our order. I don't know who was at this table behind us, maybe Brad Pitt or the Pope, but they got all of this server's, named Eric, attention. Though the kitchen messed up my order twice, Stela was AMAZING. She was attentive and sweet. She took really good care of us and she didn't have to. Stela is very good at her job and shows an excellent work ethic. So thank you, Stela, for your great service tonight. Had Eric been our server, this would have ended up being a very...
