Before reading, please understand this is only my opinion and how I think/would like my chinese food to taste like. The reason I gave this place any stars was because they are very friendly and the service part was on point. I was looking forward to trying this place out after all the rave reviews! I ordered a simple chicken fried rice and crab rangoon take out order on a Friday about 1pm. Thinking I was getting lunch pricing. They were fast and friendly, no problem there. The total was $20.85 for just one order of chicken fried rice and one order of crab rangoon. Seemed very pricey for lunch to me. I get home a proceed to eat it, the crab rangoon was very full and not so "deep fried" as all the other Chinese places around. So that was nice. But the filling was leaning more to the sweet side than savory. I prefer mine to have more savory filling. The chicken fried rice was a very good portion, but there was an un-godly amount of white onion in this dish. there were also green onions/scallions in it as well. Literally every bite I took had just a few grains of rice and over powering amount of onion in it. So even if there was enough to make two more meals out of, I did not want to torture my pallet with that "onion" fried rice dish again. Sincerely...
Read moreI have never written a review before, but i have had the absolute best experiences at Penguin Kitchen that I have to let others know.
Today- As I was walking in the first door, a women (who ended up being my server) opened the door for me, and greeted me with a smile on her face. Wow! I began with ordering Crab Rangoons, which are the absolute best Crab Rangoons I have ever had. Warm and fresh! They donât skimp with the filling either! Then I got the Hot and Sour soup, which was fantastic and so tasty- truly the best I have ever had. Then I got the Veggie fried rice & my mom got the Kung Pao Chicken. Both meals were absolutely delicious. Again, the best veggie fried rice Iâve ever had! You think itâs just a basic dish, but no. It was cooked and prepped so much better than I have ever had.
BEST PLACE EVER. The service was just as amazing as the food. My server was so nice and I never had to wait, she was absolutely wonderful. She paid attention to us and when I was low on water, she was there in a second to get me more water. Wow!!!!!! No one likes to be thirsty so that needed to be mentioned. đĽ°
The fact that I took the time to write all this should tell yâall all you need to know. Lol. Penguin Kitchen deserves it!
I appreciate the wonderful...
Read moreFrom the second I walked in, Elaine greeted me like I was an old friendâsuper friendly, professional, and just an all-around awesome human. She set the tone for what turned out to be one of the best lunch experiences Iâve had in a while.
I ordered the orange chicken lunch special with fried rice, two Crab Rangoons, and Tempura Shrimpâbecause why not go all in? Everything came out hot, fresh, and absolutely delicious. The orange chicken had the perfect crispy-to-sauce ratio, the fried rice was flavorful, and the tempura shrimp had that light, crispy crunch you dream about. The crab rangoons? Chefâs kiss.
Elaine was on top of it, checking in to make sure everything was perfect (spoiler alert: it was). And then came the sauces. Their house sauces are so good, but let me tell you about this spicy mustard. Elaine gave me a heads-up that it was stronger than wasabi. I laughedâuntil I took a dip. She wasnât lying. That stuff will clear your sinuses, realign your chakras, and possibly help you time travel.
All in all, an amazing experienceâgreat food, even better service, and a spicy mustard that should come with a disclaimer. Iâll 100% be back. If you havenât been to Penguinâs Kitchen...
