Another restaurant calling the cops on a black man. I was here when a gentleman returned stating his order was wrong. He'd wanted fried shrimp but was given boiled. The owner (Asian lady) came out and told him he ordered boiled even though she was in the back. Instead of correcting the misunderstanding, she refused to give him fried shrimp unless he paid for it. She then states she is calling the cops. Here we go again. I tried to pay for the fried shrimp but they wouldnt take my payment because they already called the cops. Now, I get my order. I'm used to getting fried rice but was given red beans and rice and was told that's what comes with it. Even though, I've ordered this plate before getting fried rice. I let it go because of the situation with the guy. I also substituted shrimp for oysters (the dinner comes with 4 shrimp, 4 oysters, 2 pieces of fish). I was allowed to substitute the shrimp for oysters. When I looked in the plate once leaving I see I have 1 extra oyster. I called and was told I received an extra piece of fish also. I didn't ask for more fish. That wasn't explained to me or I wouldn't have agreed. This may seem simple to some but it's not when we are spending our hard earned money but get treated with very little value. I guess I'll take my business to another...
Read moreWe were so fortunate to have a Friend from the local area (Who have been bragging about this place for the past few months) who introduced us to Doo's Seafood for our very 1st experience.
And boy, what an amazing & tasty experience we've had! Our Friend placed a special order for the 4 of us to dine with. As you can see in the attached video & pictures, we had pretty much the house combo of seafood boil in the herb garlic butter sauce. Our food was served in the large, rectangular aluminum container. While we all had our individual paper dish, plastic utensils, abundant of plastic gloves, and unlimited supply of white, paper napkins (And not the typical large roll of brown paper towels that is usually found in the restrooms, whew...).
What we all loved about this flavorings here is the nicely light taste of seasonings, and not overkill like some others, the seafoods were extremely fresh (Crab legs, shrimps, crawfish, and mussels) and perfectly cooked with the meats still moist, plump, and tasty. Plus, the veggies (Corn on the cobs, broccoli, red skin potatoes, and linguini) are, once again, perfectly cooked to taste, not soggy. Big "Thank You" for that!!
The staff were attentive & friendly to us, and many other guests at the counter with to go orders.
We wish you LOTS OF SUCCESS for the many...
Read more*update to my previous post. I've continued to be a customer because as I previously mentioned, they have GREAT food! The service has improved drastically over the past few months. I haven't had to wait more than maybe 15 minutes on any visit. I've even called ahead of time and was greeted with my food waiting. It's great to see the service improve to meet the quality of food. I'm sure they'll continue to have ups and downs, but I want to recognize the efforts put into providing better and faster service.
The food is great. Admittedly the best I've had around here. The service is terrible. Calling ahead to place a to go order is pointless. I understand that it'll take time to prepare the order, but the last 5 phone orders I've placed were not even sent to the kitchen. Each time that I've gotten to the restaurant, I've paid for my order and watched the order get taken to the kitchen. So again, don't waste your time calling in an order. Expect to wait 25 to 40 minutes to get your food when you get...
