Both my beloved and I had been jones-ing for GOOD burritos on the Oregon coast for too long a time - we're locals and most of the food here is very bland with little use of spices, textures, and flavors. Both of us are world travelers and shake our fists at the heavens for the dull cuisine to be found here, yet while we were out about on April 2, 2018, we decided to eat at La Roca and we are so happy to have done so. The restaurant was clean and quit busy, yet we were shown quickly to a booth and before you know it chips and two types of salsa were shoveled under our expectant noses. Its obvious the salsas are made in-house. The spicy verde and the charred red pepper salsas were hot and amazing. Could this be true? Real Mexican? We both giggled. So far so good. My lady ordered a horchata which she found different but delightful while I called for a Pacifico which came cold and welcome. We ordered our food. No sides of beans and rice - thankfully - just a big, overstuffed burrito filled with the good stuff and just as much meat - Al pastor (marinated pork) along with the rice and beans and tomatoes and lettuce and flavor where they belong...inside a big handful of food: a rare thing around these parts. We were both as stuffed as the former burrito when we left with promises to make this place our new go-to place. And it's just not the food! These people care and they know what they are doing. In a time when bland is the norm for those with no taste, La Roca brings to the Oregon coast what it so desperately needs...spice! And excellent service and prices!

Viva Mexico! Viva La Roca! Kelly McDowell and...

Delicious food and spicy salsa! The red salsa is pretty smokey and the green salsa is spicier, I enjoyed both but my husband preferred the red one. Service was good, and they had lots of clearly marked vegetarian options on the menu for my vegetarian husband. He had a vegetarian bean burrito with mushroom and onion and green salsa, and I had three tacos (asada, lengua, and pastor) and a virgin pina colada. Everything was really tasty and flavorful! The only thing I was a little disappointed by was the guacamole we ordered, since it didn’t appear to have anything other than avocado in it (no onion or tomato) and I had to add salt and pepper to it, but aside from that everything else we ate was yummy. The restaurant decor was beautiful as well.

I appreciated that it was somewhat wheelchair accessible, although the ramp was a little steep so I wouldn’t have been able to wheel myself up it alone if not for my husband being there and pushing me, and the turn onto the ramp is a bit tight with my wheelchair footrests, but we were able to...

La Roca Oaxaca Mexican Restaurant in Lincoln City, Oregon, is a hidden gem that offers an authentic and delightful dining experience. From the moment you walk in, you are greeted with warm and friendly service that makes you feel right at home. The menu is a treasure trove of traditional Oaxacan dishes, each bursting with rich, vibrant flavors that transport you straight to Mexico.

The mole is a standout, with its complex and perfectly balanced taste, and the tlayudas are a must-try, providing a satisfying crunch and fresh, flavorful toppings. The ingredients are clearly fresh and high-quality, and each dish is prepared with care and authenticity.

The atmosphere is cozy and inviting, with beautiful decor that adds to the overall experience. Whether you’re a local or just passing through, La Roca Oaxaca is a fantastic spot for a delicious and memorable meal. I highly recommend it for anyone looking to enjoy genuine Oaxacan cuisine in...

We're on a roadtrip and decided to give this place a try...did not disappoint!! By far my favorite restaurant we've been to so far on our vacation! Came in as a party of 7, waited at least 20 mins or so to be seated. Place is very small but service is on point! Food was AH-MAZING! Complimentary chips and salsas, so that kept the hungry kiddos happy. Food came out pretty quick. Drinks were never really empty. My youngest had the kid's quesadilla which he said was really good. My oldest had the nachos, which she enjoyed. 3 of us had the pick 3 entree for $19 (I had the pork tamal, chicken chimichanga, and chicken burrito) and I took half of mine home. Seriously, everything was so good. My hubby loved it and said that the next thing just kept tasting better. We would totally come back again if in the area and are thinking about visiting again before we have to get back on the road lol.

Chips and salsa were given when you order. The salsa is unlike any other I have tried. It was more just a brothy juice. No chunks. The food was decent, although the sauces had some flavors that were a bit unusual compared to other Mexican restaurants. The super burrito and mega super burrito is absolutely monster in size. Entomatadas were a surprise, and like an enchilada deconstructed. The sauce was tomato based and covered some cheese rolled tortillas. Steak (or chicken) on the side. With avocado and tomato garnish. It was interesting deciding how much meat to slice for each bite of tortilla. The steak was thin but juicy and a decent cut. Overall, busy place and the people are nice. Instagram: real.food.shots

Routinely fresh, and because of that is always spectacular flavor, and mouth watering in taste. Has become my regular destination for my Mexican food fix, probably close to once a month. Personal favorite is the Chile Relleno, either with cheese or chicken (pix w/chix) and fish tacos. Yumm Year after posting my initial review of La Roca, thought it needed a Covid related update for those willing to try take-out, which worked perfectly. Called and made my typical order of Chili Relleno with chicken, and beans/rice with side of fish tacos. Called on a busy day for them, and picked up in about 45 minutes costing less than $20 which included tip. My bad on spillage...over-eager.
