Both my beloved and I had been jones-ing for GOOD burritos on the Oregon coast for too long a time - we're locals and most of the food here is very bland with little use of spices, textures, and flavors. Both of us are world travelers and shake our fists at the heavens for the dull cuisine to be found here, yet while we were out about on April 2, 2018, we decided to eat at La Roca and we are so happy to have done so. The restaurant was clean and quit busy, yet we were shown quickly to a booth and before you know it chips and two types of salsa were shoveled under our expectant noses. Its obvious the salsas are made in-house. The spicy verde and the charred red pepper salsas were hot and amazing. Could this be true? Real Mexican? We both giggled. So far so good. My lady ordered a horchata which she found different but delightful while I called for a Pacifico which came cold and welcome. We ordered our food. No sides of beans and rice - thankfully - just a big, overstuffed burrito filled with the good stuff and just as much meat - Al pastor (marinated pork) along with the rice and beans and tomatoes and lettuce and flavor where they belong...inside a big handful of food: a rare thing around these parts. We were both as stuffed as the former burrito when we left with promises to make this place our new go-to place. And it's just not the food! These people care and they know what they are doing. In a time when bland is the norm for those with no taste, La Roca brings to the Oregon coast what it so desperately needs...spice! And excellent service and prices!

Read moreDelicious food and spicy salsa! The red salsa is pretty smokey and the green salsa is spicier, I enjoyed both but my husband preferred the red one. Service was good, and they had lots of clearly marked vegetarian options on the menu for my vegetarian husband. He had a vegetarian bean burrito with mushroom and onion and green salsa, and I had three tacos (asada, lengua, and pastor) and a virgin pina colada. Everything was really tasty and flavorful! The only thing I was a little disappointed by was the guacamole we ordered, since it didnât appear to have anything other than avocado in it (no onion or tomato) and I had to add salt and pepper to it, but aside from that everything else we ate was yummy. The restaurant decor was beautiful as well.
I appreciated that it was somewhat wheelchair accessible, although the ramp was a little steep so I wouldnât have been able to wheel myself up it alone if not for my husband being there and pushing me, and the turn onto the ramp is a bit tight with my wheelchair footrests, but we were able to...
