The food is excellent, the service is dreadful when the lady works. I’m unsure if she is the owner or if her son is the owner. I go up to the White Mountains every year for my birthday and I make a point to stop here at least once per trip, not sure I’ll be stopping in again though.
We went in Wednesday night and the woman made it a point to let us know she was working alone and couldn’t start our food until she took everyone’s orders, which we were fine with. Well she called out number (we ordered two pizzas) # 95. We went and one pizza was up, by this time an employee was there (her first day) the woman looked at my grandfather, cousin and myself and said “hold on I have to cut your second pizza”. I heard her in the kitchen tell the new woman “tell 95 their pizza is ready”. The pizza had 2 extra toppings on it, but knowing she was behind and generally grumpy and the fact my grandfather needs to eat before 7pm due to health issues, I took the pizza I was told was mine and we decided it was ok and didn’t wanna stress the lady out or make my grandfather wait. Well ten minutes later she comes outside and starts yelling at us for taking the wrong pizza. Mind you no calls have been made for my second pizza (I’m pretty sure she forgot to make it). She goes as far as to tell the other customer “you paid for it and they are eating it, I’m not sure what to tell ya”. Mind you, she told us our pizza was coming out and called out number. It was extremely embarrassing being screamed at and accused of stealing in front of everyone else. She hen storms inside. I double checked my receipt and went it to show her we were in fact #95. She took my receipt and threw it out (I keep receipts from trips to track the money we soend) and then said “are you blind, couldnt you see that was the toppings you ordered” she then proceeded to yell at me, the new employee and then finally tjenother customer for not seeing I took her pizza, even though the other customer was seated outside and had no ability to see the counter. The other customer then asked about missing buffalo wings she orders and the woman looked at me and asked if we stole that as well. She was happy blaming everyone but herself for a mistake she made.
We paid $50 for 2 pizzas and three drinks. I’ve never been humiliated or screamed at like that in a restaurant, especially for a mistake the restaurant made. It doesn’t make sense that she would take our order, then the other customers order, make one of our pizzas, one of her pizzas, then our second pizza and then the rest of the other customers order. This was onvisouly a mistake on her end, rather than make a new pizza she decided to scream at 2 customers and her brand new employee. I would have walked out had I been that employee. The new employee simply did what she was told to do. I will be calling to speak to her son regarding this, nobody should pay that money to be then be accused of stealing and screamed at in front of other customers.
To top it off, we asked for a box to take home our remaining 5 slices and she ignored us for 5 minutes (yes I timed it) and then gave us the smallest box possible, knowing we couldn’t fit our remaining food in that box. I’ve been there before and know they have larger boxes. If you want a nice place to eat and relax, this is not the place for you! If you wanna soend a lot of money and get screamed at by a cranky old bat, I would 100% suggest this place. I will be calling until I get in touch with the son, I refuse to speak to that woman again after being treated like that. If the mistake had been ours, we would have paid for th pizza, and just taken the pizza we ordered (which never showed up). But she knew it was her mistake and treated us like dirt. My only mistake was going there and giving them good money on...
Read moreIt was a slow week for the Scottish games. Where were all the people? That being said, it's an experience, not just a restaurant. Phone orders. Ugh. She doesn't take phone orders. Just the other night, she had an order for five cheese pizzas. Five. And she had to put everyone else off until she got those done. Did they pick them up? No. No pickup, and what do you do with five cheese pizzas? You tell me, what? These people order, and never pick up, so you can come in, order like anyone else, and the food will be ready after it's cooked. Otherwise, they don't take phone orders. Phone orders take away from the customers out front. These people. You know, she got this place off a loan from her brother. She made payments, every month, and you know what he was doing? Interest. He got interest. Every month. She didn't find out until he was dead. (Crosses self). Rest his soul. But seriously, he was charging interest. To his family. Doesn't family mean anything? It used to. Now she owns it completely, has since 2001. No more blood money. And to think, she never knew until he died. What kind of person does that? To his sister? Interest schminterest. It's just uncalled for. Okay, I know it says, "pasta" on the sign. She doesn't do pasta. There's no pasta there. If you want pasta, go somewhere else. If you want food, look at the menu. Pasta takes too long, and she can't be helping other people. Just like these phone orders. Just come in and order. You order, she makes the food. It's how you do things. All of this over the phone stuff These days... Anywho, if you're looking for more than just a fast bite to eat. If you're looking for an experience. If you want to wait a bit for food or service, but then be given a rich cornucopia of lore, suspicion, and flat out grateful thanks for lifting her industrial mixing bowl (the doctors have her a plastic shoulder, and she can't lift it now), head here. She's deaf, caring, and doing her best. The food was delicious, and her stories were more than worth the price of lunch. Would recommend going at a quiet time. She takes each order very seriously, and orders are handled as the previous order is fulfilled. You want to go somewhere else? Go for it. Good luck finding...
Read moreThis is a very honest feedback from my end, we were four families with kids who went to Fresolone's to have our dinner after having a good trip in NH for the fall of 2014:
Firstly, I would like to state the part which was positive about this restaurant, the food was good and tasty.
Now the part that made me give a rating of two stars is: the nasty rude behavior of the elderly woman who served us our dinner as well as some local folks who supported her without knowing the details. The problem here was that we gave our menu choices or orders to a person who turned out to be a cleaner there and so the messup coz from what I understood there was a clear communication gap between the cleaner and the elderly lady who served us dinner but instead we bore the brunt of her rantings, we had asked for 2 family size 3 topping 18 inch pizza's, 2 pasta's and 6 portions of garlic bread and soda, the order which we would normally expect is soda first to drink followed by garlic bread and then the pasta's and pizza's but we were served quite the opposite. Also she gave us the pizza's and one of the requested pasta's but didnt give us the rest until we followed up after an hour and a half. Also she was talking about this country being america we wont find the type of pasta we asked for and that macaroni was the option, also I felt slight racist comments from her and the people around possibly local folks who frequent this restaurant. I was polite due to the respect I had for the lady for her age but she did not reciprocate, she was rude, disrespectful, lacked courtesy and warmth which was not expected from an elderly lady. She also did not respond properly when asked about the delay in the orders being served. Clearly there was a communication gap between the cleaner and herself but instead mentioned that we did not provide her information of what we wanted. I would like to ask the lady as to how would we know the person taking the order was a cleaner and that we should deal with her as we were new to the place. This incident took place on 10/05/2014. I should have seen the reviews before going to this restaurant to have my dinner. I would not recommend this restaurant until the elderly...
