We’ve always had good service at Lazlo’s but that changed Friday night. We arrived shortly before 10:00 PM and the restaurant closes at 10:30. The manager/hostess was extremely friendly while seating us. We had a nice conversation about their gluten free menu as one of the members of our party has an extreme gluten allergy. The server came over, took our drink orders and asked if we were ready to order. to get our orders. We said we weren’t quite ready. She said “well the kitchen closes in 5 minutes but I’ll give you a couple more minutes.” She was very matter of fact and not friendly in the way she said it. She came back fairly quickly and we ordered. The food came out pretty quick. The gentleman that brought the food was very friendly and was joking around with us. We ate our food in a timely manner. The server brought our checks and cleared the table. We put our cards in the card holder almost immediately. She came back, ran our checks and brought the receipts back to sign. We all signed and she was right there almost immediately to pick up the signed copies at which time she pretty aggressively said “we are closing now so.” We hadn’t planned on staying and visiting anyway but felt like we had to immediately leave. The manager/host didn’t say anything about needing to hurry when she seated us. It really felt like the server just wanted to be done with us so she could leave. I get it was late but she was so aggressive about how she presented that the kitchen and restaurant were closing. She of course waited to tell us to leave until after we had signed our checks and tipped her. I looked at my watch when we left and it was 10:35. We will be back as we enjoy the food and the service is typical friendly. Maybe she was having a bad night but not the way to...
Read moreI got here before a show (1/2-1 block away so convenient!). I had to wait for a seat. I waited at the bar. They started rearranging tables and pushing chairs right up to me, one hit my shin. "Oh! Oops!" But that did clear 1 seat at the bar, which I took But nobody was asking me what I would like. I finally got someone's attention. I told them I had a show starting and told them the time. I asked them if they would be able to have enough time to prepare anything so I could eat it in time. They said yes. I ordered a cheeseburger and waffle fries. I asked again if that order would give me enough time l. They said "yes with plenty to spare." So I ordered a drink and waited for the food .... And waited and waited .... I asked what the progress was, politely but firmly. I just got a vague answer. Finally I ran out of time. I told them I have no time left and have to cancel my food order and just pay for the drink. The server said she had to "go check with the kitchen". So then I had to wait for that to happen! But then she came back and gave me my bill with only the drink on it. I paid and left. I had to wait for the line at the show and stuff and did not get seated until after the published show start. Luckily they started the show a few minutes late. But I never got to try their food not even a single bite, so I cannot review the food. The service was annoying. Yes they were packed, but communication is still important, and I feel I did everything right on my end. I explained my situation and gave them plenty of room to say "sorry we don't have time to fix anything for you. It's a bar, so I can't really comment on...
Read moreAbsolutely THE worst manager. Called in Wednesday to ask about reservations. no reservations. Okay, fine...my husband explained that my mother in law is disabled and we were limited to the Times available by the transport company to drop her off at 4pm. He was told "If we make an exception for one person, we have to make an exception for everyone". He asked about just a window of time that we could make sure to get her there and was told to call after 10:30am on the morning we wanted to be there and there should be no problem. Both the hostess and the manager had zero customer service phone skills. Tone of voice was incredibly irritated that they were even being asked to accommodate someone in a wheelchair . apparently they have never heard of the ADA. I just called today at 11:30 again really curt manager... Told them that I was told to call in today and was literally snapped and told" NO! You were told to call at 10:30. And our phone has been ringing off the hook for an hour and we are full at 4:00pm. But, you can just show up." At this point I was not going to argue. We followed the instructions that we were given, and then to be told (with a horrible tone of voice) just show up...but were are completely full...but it should be no problem...but we are full. Which is it? I will never...ever go to this Lazlos. the Haymarket location management is always so nice and accommodating. Apparently disability accommodations vary by location. Not sure that's legal, but we ARE taking our medium sized group to another restaurant. Be warned about ever calling this location. Truly disturbing when there are so many other choices for...
