Why I won’t support Chop Spot BBQ anymore? On 7/31/2025 I placed an order at a restaurant I often patronize. Due to my consistent health challenges I unfortunately ended up in the hospital and was unable to eat nor check my order. This morning as I was preparing to be able to eat my meal I noticed that my order was incorrect. I then called the establishment to inform them of the error and explained why I was not able to check my order. I was originally told the manager was not in and that they would give me a call. Hours passed. No call. I followed up with my call and informed again that the manager wasn’t in initially but then placed on a brief hold. After the hold, I was told that due to the fact it was two days after the purchase date that “nothing could be done”. I am done patronizing businesses like these who 1) don’t honor customer service when the receipt is clearly provided and 2) when it wasn’t my error it was theirs. I WILL NO LONGER BE SUPPORTING CHOP SPOT OF LINDEN, NJ!

UPDATE: 8/2/2025 The establishment posted via google reviews that a discount was provided which at no point during my 4:06pm 1 min call was provided. I did not meet any employee of Chop Spot with a nasty tone but I did inform them as an over 2+ year patron I will no longer be a customer of theirs. I then attempted to call the establish to inquire about the discount and I was sent to voicemail. Due to the order being paid cash, I cannot report it to my bank and it is just considered a lost however . As I explained both times calling the establishment the only reason why I was not able to check the food prior to today was due to hospitalization. With no care or remorse I was met with an energy that expressed they did not care about my business. The time stamps of the calls proves that the posting was done after both calls were made and edited to seem like I was a disgruntled patron which I am not. Additionally, I wished I was met with the same respect and care as they offered another customer mentioned on this review page “ Lisabeth”. I was not met with the same customer service especially as I tried to contact the manager TWICE and was given the run around until I posted my...
Read moreChop spot has great food, don’t get me wrong. Their costumer service is where they fail. Wow. I’ve been here twice so far. I’ve called both times and made an order over the phone asking for the half portion of bbq chicken. My first time eating here earlier this week, my order was wrong. I went in to pick up and pay and told the older woman that it wasn’t correct. She did not give me hard time. She gave me a drink with my order and made sure I got what I asked for. Awesome. I called today, 12/10 and was greeted rudely by whoever took my order. I ordered the half portion of BBQ chicken again. My order was repeated back to me, she told me how long it would be (45min) and hung up. Waited the 45min, got to the restaurant to the woman who took my order being extremely rude once again. I tell her I’m here to pick up and she hands me a full portion of bbq ribs. I tell her this isn’t what I asked for. She says in a condescending, rude manner “yes it is, this what you ordered. Before we hang up the phone we repeat your order back to you and this is what you ordered.” I then responded with “and before we hung up the phone you repeated back to me that I wanted the half portion of BBQ chicken and told me it would be 45min wait.” She keeps reiterating that she repeats orders before she hangs up and she’s pointing at her mouth motioning her repeating the order. I say I’m sorry but this isn’t what I asked for. Now she’s squinting and motioning for me to sit down “okay honey well you want bbq chicken? You can wait for an extra 30 min.” I handed her the platter back that I DID not order and said “actually you can have this back and you’re rude as f” and left. I have never experienced customer service like this ever in my life. The food is amazing here but I’m never going back. The team needs to do better and hire better employees with manners. There’s a sign on the counter when you walk in that says “Be nice or leave” and they obviously don’t know how to follow what the sign...

I recently dined at a local Portuguese establishment with some high hopes, however, I found myself gravely disappointed by both the food and service.
Despite it being a restaurant that centers around Portuguese cuisine, the food served here lacked the typical warmth and spirit that one should expect from the flavor-rich culture that is Portugal. The most concerning part was that the food was regrettably undercooked. Not only does this question the skill of the chef, but instantly rings alarm bells for numerous health issues.
I ordered a Caesar Salad as part of my meal, but what arrived was far from it. What one expects from a Caesar Salad—crisp romaine lettuce, delicate Parmesan, tangy and creamy dressing— was completely absent. It was a typical garden-variety salad, severely lacking in character and completely misrepresenting my order.
Additionally, my order was missing a significant component – the rice. This was more than an oversight from the kitchen, it turned my supposedly hearty meal into an incomplete one.
The atmosphere of the restaurant failed to bring any semblance of redemption. It was noticeably uncomfortable and came off as rather disorganizing, leaving much to be desired.
What has left a permanent sour taste, more than the food, was the subpar treatment from two members of the staff, William and Sheila. Their demeanor was far from acceptable, lacking basic etiquettes of hospitality, and their interactions escalated the regrettable experience even further.
Dining out is supposed to be an enjoyable experience, fulfilling in terms of both food and service; however, my recent visit to this Portuguese restaurant was everything but that. Your time and money are better invested elsewhere. Disappointing is not strong enough of a word to describe this...
