🌮🥂 Menu Highlights – Come Hungry! 🥂🌮
Don Tequila’s menu is packed with Latin American classics that hit every craving! We dove into empanadas (at $3.50 each) with savory fillings like beef, chicken, and cheese—crispy on the outside, deliciously seasoned inside. Their ceviche mixto, featuring shrimp and octopus in a refreshing citrus dressing, was the perfect light start. For a filling, hearty option, try the Churrasco (grilled skirt steak served with chimichurri) or their loaded Paella filled with seafood flavors. 🥘🍤
For something a little different, the Mussels in Salsa Roja were flavorful, while the Seafood Fiesta combines lobster, shrimp, mussels, and clams in a bold tomato-brandy sauce. And if you’re a fan of Tex-Mex, the Chicken Fajitas and Don Quesadilla come sizzling with all the right toppings. 🌶️

Read moreThis is super long, but read on, it's worth it.
Bar was full when we went in, dining room was like 30% full.
We waited about 20 minutes for our order to be taken. Our order was taken and then about ten minutes later, we were asked if we ordered (girl who appears to be in charge of the dining room), we tell her yes and what drinks, and she gets them for us.
After that, two other servers came by and asked if we ordered. Both times (along with the first server), we give our order, a chicken quesadilla and a steak dinner (it had a specific name, I forget what it was called). Ten minutes go by and we get queso. It's queso, but tastes like Velveeta bagged queso from a microwave. A few minutes later my wife gets her quesadilla and it tasted burnt. We waited a few minutes for a server to get something else (and get my steak....hopefully), but noone shows.
At this point my wife goes to find a manager, as we want to just pay for our drinks and leave. While she's at the bar, a manager looking guy (dress pants and vest running food) passes my table saying to someone "the bar is going nuts".
A few minute s later sever #2 comes by with a steak fajita. Note, I didn't get a steak fajita. I tell her that and let her know we're leaving, so she takes it back. A few minutes later, server #3 brings out.....you guessed it....a steak fajita. I let her know I didn't order that and we're leaving.
I figure at this point to check out the scene at the bar. I get there and numerous people are yelling for a manager. The ONE bartender there, was super nice and just getting pummeled with complaints. Eventually she walks away from the bar (I don't blame her). She then comes out, apologizes to everyone, and tells them they don't need to pay. Eventually, we're told we don't need to pay for the drinks and can leave. Both the bartender and the server "leader" were super nice and apologetic. I feel bad for both bc obviously that place has zero management. For the manager to hide in the back and let his staff just get demolished by customers is embarrassing and cowardly.
In summary, it was busy and they were short-handed, but their management was absolutely atrocious. Whoever hired the management for this restaurant should...
Read moreI really want to give this review a 1 star, but I am trying to be positive. Decor was decent, music was more modern, pop like Latin music, and the general set up of the place looked nice, but thats about the only positive thing I can say. The menu is strange. The food is not really Mexican, I would call it Mexican themed. They do not even have corn tortillas. One of the reasons I seek out Mexican food is because I cannot eat flour and Mexican tends to have a lot of corn options. I judge Mexican food on two things... Carnita tacos and margaritas. I could not eat the tacos because they do not have corn tortillas and the margarita was not good. The food I actually got was not that great either. The queso fundido was OK... Even though it was clearly made from an Americanized Mexican Cheese and if there was chorizo in it... It was hiding. When it was brought out without more chips the waiter asked if he should bring more chips (of course, what else were we going to do with this bowl of cheese). We got one more small thing of chips, so much of that queso went to waste. The salsa served with the chips was sub par. The waiter also asked if I wanted to try their homemade hot sauce. OK, so the hot sauce was pretty good... Honestly its the only thing I liked all night. I got grilled chicken with Mexican rice and beans. I was not given silverware and had to wait for a different server to pass me to ask for silverware. Chicken was dry, although I was surprised by the portion 3 pieces for $12.The chicken was served with pico... It was poorly made pico. The rice was not special, nor were the beans. My husband got the Cuban sandwich, which he actually seemed to like, although he did not like the chips and salsa either. Bottom line... This is not an authentic Mexican restaurant and the staff are under experienced. So if you like "Mexican" restaurants like Don Pablo's... Then you will probably love this place. If you thought this was a mom and pop Mexican restaurant, it's not. I will not go out of my...
