La PizzaTega — Restaurant in Linwood

I wanted to give this restaurant the benefit of the doubt but it was horrible. There were four of us - three adults and one child. It is new and in the construction, they removed much of the ceiling, causing the restaurant to be very loud with a lot of echoes. The one and only thing they did really well was getting a child's pizza out quickly. But for the adults, it was a long waiting game - leading to keeping the child entertained for hours. The bruschetta appetizer we ordered never arrived, even though we inquired about it 5 times. The olives appetizer were canned and chopped up. The waitress did not speak English and did not get help when she did not understand what we were asking for - and it was a serious conversation about allergies. At one point I joked that I felt like I was on candid camera and the manager overheard and asked, "really?" but never came over to find out why. My salad arrived missing more than half of the items. I ended up taking the child to get ice cream (an Italian place did not have gelato) next door and made myself...

I picked up a Too good to go order. They were super friendly and made me feel so welcome, especially for just pickup. I have been to two other restaurants for Too good to go and this was the best with quality of food, amount of food and customer service! I was so surprised by the amount of food I got and the variety of pizza slices. The food was hot and fresh. The Caesar salad was good, the white and broccoli& tomato slices were the best I’ve ever had. I normally have to go on the oc boardwalk to find a decent slice. My daughter said the regular plain slice way the best she ever had. We were soo full we couldn’t even think about touching a meatball. I’ll try that tomorrow. Finally able to get to La Pizza Tega after hearing so many folks tell me about their food. We had a fabulous server who let my friend & I sit and really enjoy ourselves before appointments. Ordered: Veal with Alfredo Sauce, delicious swimming in sauce; Involtini in Alfredo Sauce. The pasta was overcooked (again) good sauce. Breaded Chicken breast with broccoli rabe & provolone on good pizza bread. The chicken was overcooked by 2 mins. Dry but you can tell it had a good flavor. Broccoli rabe was very good with provolone which moistened the chicken.
