Wow. Had a great experience at Litchfields! Each dish was a complete, rounded experience that stood on it's own. First off, Server Ricardo was stinking hilarious with a professional, understated genius akin to Emilio from Mr. Deeds (think, "I fear you are underestimating the sneakiness, sir."). While considering the menu, we were approached by Andrea, whose genuine excitement for the food was infectious the way that a stranger might lean over from an adjacent table and excitedly whisper about how amazing this and that is here. After ordering a squash soup, a house salad, honey mustard, bacon wrapped and fried pork sliders, and the pork chop as the main course, Andrea's eyes lit up as she described the scrumptious mixed butter spread she would bring with bread. Amazing. The bread was fantastic. The squash soup with cheese and bits of bacon was rich and robust. Paired with the bread for dipping, it was simply delectable. Next arrived the sliders and salad. We had to stop and ask Ricardo back over. How the devil did this taste so good? I run a bed and breakfast in Oregon and have my own love affair with creating and serving the best food possible. He and Andrea described the process perfected by the chef which was innovative and resulting in a Pork slider that was moist and bursting with flavor, but not runny. The shredded cabbage, stone ground mustard and honey sauce was reminiscent of a fun little german sausage and beer bar in Portland named Probst, only more like it's more refined, educated, and slightly uptight older brother. The house salad was a sad case of understatement. Like the way that the word "deluxe" is used to describe discount boxed chocolates at drug stores that are anything but, "house" here can be thought of as a signature course on par with the symphony of flavors balanced in each dish we'd tried thus far. Fresh greens, perfectly ripe strawberries and thin apple slices, goat cheese, and were there pecans? The house vinaigrette was the conductor that brought together the talent found in each of the single quality ingredients. At this point, we would have been content to leave wholly satisfied before the main dish ever arrived. Bear in mind, my date and I opted for sharing one order of each of the appetizers I've described, versus ordering two main dinner plates. We were nearly full when the Pork Chop arrived. Topped with fried onion and served over sauce along side pickles and fries made from polenta. Long after I was full, I kept trying different flavor combinations of pork, sauce, pickle, polenta, and onion. It would've been a crime to discard any of that memorable dining nirvana. The wait staff made us feel welcome and shared in our excitement to try a variety of smaller dishes in contrast to scoffing at our sharing the appetizers and single dinner. The meal was a hair over $50, $54 with tax. I used a Living social voucher. I'm on a tighter budget and while I love a deal, I would consider this restaurant well worth it to return at normal full boar. Loved it, loved it, loved it. One of the best formal dining experiences I've...
Read moreMy wife and I have visited not only several wine tasting events in the past but Litchfield's Restaurant numerous times in the past year. I wanted to reach out and let someone know of our experience last evening 12/8/23. Upon arrival at 7:45pm to our reservation we were greeted by the Hostess who offered to set us in the restaurant. I heard the live music in the bar area and asked that we be seated in that area. Without hesitation she obliged and immediately sat us. Our waitress came and introduced herself within minutes. She was extremely friendly and attentive to our needs. She left after giving us the menus and wine list to return within an expected time. We weren't ready to order so I asked to have a couple more minutes to decide. Again, she obliged and we proceeded to look over the menu. I would like to preface the following with the fact that there were several Christmas parties and she was extremely busy. Not to mention the was a an over the top intoxicated individual that the Manager asked a couple times to settle down. So we understand her being busy however, I am in the customer service business as well. Unfortunately, another 15 minutes passed and I had to tell the waitress we were ready to order. Upon coming to our table she apologized for forgetting us. We proceeded to order cocktails, an appetizer (butter flight) and entrees. My wife and I drank our cocktails and within another ten minutes the Manager arrived at our table and apologized for what I thought was the lack of attentiveness but it could have been for the intoxicated party. I am still not sure. My wife and I then continued our evening. Our waitress returned within an expected time frame and asked if we'd like another cocktail. My wife declined and I ordered another. I never received my drink UNTIL the Manager again came to the table, apologized and asked if I wanted another drink. She went back and informed our waitress to get my cocktail. Our waitress returned with my drink and I asked about the appetizer which still hadn't arrived. She apologized and stated she would check. When she went to check, the runner arrived a few minutes with our entrees. We proceeded to eat our dinner. Our waitress then returned with the appetizer that I understandably declined. She again, apologized. Lastly, I asked for our check- the waitress asked to pay for our dessert, I declined- the manager then came over, apologized and asked to pay for our dessert I declined. I was then given 10% off our bill per the waitress. When we left the hostess while walking out apologized again. In thinking the evening through with my wife I legitimately believe we were apologized to 7 times.I dont want dessert, I...
Read moreThe 5 star reviews and elegant pictures drew me in to book my wedding night dinner at Litchfield’s. Unfortunately for me and my family, we had an incredibly disappointing experience here.
When I had called to book our table, the attendee on the phone (Delilah) had asked if we wanted one of the private rooms. We had declined as we wanted to be closer to the live music - when we showed up for our reservation, we were seated….in a private dining room…
We were incredibly hungry since we hadn’t eaten all day, ordered appetizers right away. Bread and butter never tasted so good. But the experience afterwards is where we were let down.
3 of us (including myself and my wife) had ordered the Hanger Steak, my parents had ordered the Half Chicken. Needless to say the chicken came out lukewarm and potatoes were definitely old and not made fresh that day (nor were they clean).
As for the steaks, all 3 of us had to send it back 2 times!!! We refused to send it back a third time and opted to just not eat dinner…
You would think if you messed up a dinner that badly for a newly wed husband and wife for their family dinner, you would take care of them. Litchfields’ manager had come up to apologize, and so did Cindy our server but I found it strange how the food wasn’t checked before serving (steaks were literally blue when we had ordered Medium’s)
The “cherry on top” was them only taking off the 3 steaks from our bill. There was 8 of us, we all ordered one drink and no discount on the bill, which quite frankly we found disrespectful. I own 3 restaurants myself, and if I had screwed up a wedding dinner that bad I would’ve taken care of the bill regardless, just because it’s the right thing to do.
Seeing the Wigwam Resort made me want to host our wedding there and even have them stay at the resort too! But after our experience and Litchfield’s and the disrespect shown to us, we’ll be finding someplace else…
TLDR (Too Long Didn’t Read): Wedding dinner of 8, messed up our seating, messed up the bride and groom’s dinner 2 times (steak), left me and my wife hungry, barely apologetic and made us pay for a...
