This review is a lot longer than average but I have just so much to say about Sushi Village, so please bear with me and thank you for reading.
The promise of all you can eat, fresh, made to order sushi at a fair price almost sounds too good to be true right? This was my first thought when I had first heard of Sushi Village in Little Falls NJ. However the doubt quickly melts away the moment you walk through the door. With all you can eat sushi, and kitchen items that really do hold their own in taste and quality.
Most people would assume that any restaurant that is "All you can eat" prioritizes on quantity over quality, and while you will be able to eat as much as you'd like, the taste isn't just up to average standards. This is NOT the case with Sushi Village, and while it isn't the best sushi I have ever had in my life, you can clearly see where the chefs priorities are when working their craft. The food simply put is great, but do not expect Michelin Star quality food, as it is not really fair to the restaurant.
The restaurant offers Vegetarian options sushi as vegetable tempura or the mushroom avocado maki rolls. So you shouldn't feel like the outcast when going out with friends. Most of the items on the menu appear to be Gluten Free as with most Asian cuisine, however it should be noted that there is no official claims for the food to be Gluten Free, and should not be consumed by folks with Celiac Disease as it is unknown whether or not there is any cross contamination or trace of wheat products within the food. In my case my Celiac Disease is not severe, so I can take one for the team per say.
My only complaint with Sushi Village is that the parking lot in the rear of the restaurant has very limited space, and can filled very easily. So take into consideration which time you go out for lunch or dinner. In Google Maps, if you are unsure whether or not a restaurant is busy, you can check by scrolling down in the restaurants page on your phone or computer.
$28 per person during dinner and $18 per person for lunch. You can not really go wrong with Sushi Village. If you are really in the mood for Sushi or even more fusion kitchen dishes then I would recommend giving Sushi Village a try, I believe that you will enjoy...

Waiters and waitresses were very attentive, but they were not personal and they did not greet us. They function almost like silent cogs of the restaurant, taking all-you-can-eat order slips from under your nose without you even noticing, taking plates away as soon as you grab the last piece with your chopsticks, and filling up waters immediately. Kudos to them for that... But there was no friendly banter.
The food itself was ok... For some reason all of the sushi was very warm as if it had been sitting on a warm plate as they made them... And the warmth made me very full quickly. I got into a slight food coma and was only on the first plate. I'd recommend getting the miso soup or a warm soup as the first item for the all-you-can-eat to prepare your stomach for the sushi. I WOULD NOT recommend the appetizers -- they are really sub-par. The pork katsu was hard, brittle, and tasteless; the takoyaki was mushy, wet, and bland. The fried calamari was better, although there was too much breading for the top-tough squid.
But nobody gets the appetizers. It's about the sushi -- which was really a solid meh. The good rolls are the simple ones... The one with 3 main ingredients at max.
I did like the green tea ice cream -- I thought it had more depth of green tea flavor than other all-you-can-eat places.
Overall, a solid 3 stars. I'd say go to this place once in a couple of months, but no more. For all-you-can-eat sushi places, this place has exciting energy and a cozy/local chatty atmosphere. It even gets hard to hear people sitting right across from you because of...
Read moreHonestly I probably wouldn't go back. There are cheaper, better quality AYCE sushi places in the area. It's $30 per person and the food isn't held to the same standard as the price. I rarely leave bad reviews, but these guys need to mame the experience worth the price.
So to start things off, we walked in and stood there for a few minutes while servers walked past us and ignored us. We saw this happen to several other couples that came in after us. Its so awkward standing in the entryway and not even being acknowledged until you ask someone to seat you.
When it came to being served, we finished our sushi and they came and took the tray and walked away. Servers passed us over 10 times without bringing another paper for us to order more. You shouldn't have to chase down a person in a restaurant so that you can get food.
They made it seem like they just wanted to get out of there. We showed up at 930 (over an hour before closing) and they acted like they were annoyed. Our drinks were never refilled, and we were never checked on ONCE. Then 40 minutes before closing they took all the soy sauce from all the tables and servers were giving us dirty looks like as if they wanted us to leave. It was very rude, the customer service was horrible. Just for that reason alone I'd never come back.
The quality of the sushi was okay. Similar to what you get at Shoprite.
So at the end of the day not worth it. Almost $80 for two people after tax and tip, and you're just neglected then pushed out at the end of the night. Disappointing.
Lastly, their parkinglot is small. So if you can't find a space, be prepared...
