Inside the Hackensack Hmart is a food court. And inside that food court is this humble little food stall, where I go whenever the craving for a bowl of Korean black bean noodles hits. Jjajangmyun is a popular Korean-Chinese dish made from black bean paste, meat, and diced vegetables. When I'm suddenly fixin' for that slurpy bowl of saucy noodles, this is where I come. Why? Because it's close to my commute, it's quick and casual, reasonably priced, and consistently good. As an added bonus, there are lots of other offerings in the food court in case my eating mate didn't want to eat the same thing. Ordering is simple. Go to the counter, place your order, and they'll give you a receipt with a number. If you find seats nearby, there's a little screen at the stall that tells you when your order is ready for pickup. If you end up sitting far away, don't fret. There's an automated loudspeaker that clearly calls out stalls and ready order numbers. My go-to order here is (of course) the jjajangyun. The menu offers a small variety - regular (with meat and veggies), uni, and spicy. Spice lovers, you're going to love the spicy jjajangmyun (#4 on the menu). The jjajang sauce is also delicious on rice, and I've loved the shrimp fried rice with it. Serving sizes are decent, and it comes with the tiniest cup of yellow pickled radishes (a standard condiment for this dish).

With the new H-Mart, there is a new food court and this Korean-Chinese food stall opened up. The food is amazing and cheap for the quality. The Jjamppong is amazing and the portions are huge. I already ordered twice and took it as a to-go order but when brought home, the noodles did not get soggy and was perfect. Other places, I would never dare to order noodles to-go but this place is great. The KKanpung Saeu (Sweet and Spicy Shrimp) was also really good. I would definitely be coming back again and recommend it to everyone.

Parked my cart in front of my seat while I was enjoying my boba. The owner (lady) pushed my cart towards me and hit my finger. She said in Korean. She meant that my cart was blocking her restaurant! The seating area is public area, not owned by her!!! Will never sit next to this restaurant again!!! Don’t even let people park their cart close to their restaurant? It’s not even close at all!!! It was in front of my seat!!! Ruined my Christmas!!! Poor service DO NOT COME.

The food is good, but pricey. $17 for about a cup and a half of fried rice.

BUT, the cashier (perhaps the owner) is RUDE. He doesn’t know what good customer service is.

I ordered chicken fried rice and when I realized that it may not be ready soon, I went to buy milk tea. I came back in more or less 10 minutes. I saw than there are two fried rice on the counter, I asked gently if my chicken fried rice is ready yet. He was finished putting food on the tray. He rudely answered, “If you it did not buzz then it is not ready.” Told him, I dont have the buzzer. He was rude in telling me go on the corner, blah, blah, blah. Instead of offering a solution he was so annoyed with the whole situation. Showed him my bank transaction since I paid card and he was doubtful… long story short, his staff saw the ticket he could not find and he wa like “why did it appeared there “. Ending he gave me the rice sitting on the counter and made more remarks like “u interrupted me when i was working blah blah” oh my gosh! I...

Don’t listen to any of the negative reviews below. I consider myself a jajangmyun aficionado and have tried almost every jajangmyun in NJ and NY (I literally search for highest ratings and go every weekend). To my surprise, Danny’s is one of the best and it’s in an Hmart food court. The sauce is on point, noodles have the perfect texture, and the spicy one hits my exact spice preference. He doesn’t cheap out on the meat either. Today (2/4) a sign stating closed until further notice is posted, and it deeply saddens me as I can’t get my fix on this cold rainy day. I shop at this Hmart to eat you food - think you should open up shop, Danny!...
