Rex's Restaurant & Bar — Restaurant in Little Rock

We found this place on our most recent trip to Little Rock! Right on the main road in soma, it was really close to our stop at the distillery and loblolly so we had to stop in for lunch. I had the smashed patty melt with a side of ranch and their wasabi ranch, and my boyfriend had the brunch burger. Their fries are insanely good, a perfect combo of shoestring fries and crispy battered fries and my patty melt was on a homemade rye bread and was so so good! Their ranch and wasabi ranch were very good! My boyfriend isn’t normally a huge burger fan but he even said his burger was really good! The restaurant had very bright, clean, artsy vibes! We live in the area and were super sad to see their (same folks) restaurant in this space prior, The Bagel Shop, close. We went to Rex's for the first time today for lunch and it truly far surpassed our expectations.

A fairly compact menu, but still plenty of options and plenty of variety amongst those. My partner, who was hesitant at first (due to him still mourning The Bagel Shop), could not stop saying how much he loved the food and his drink. One of the best burgers I've had in a while.

Everyone there was beyond friendly, courteous, and helpful. It really felt like a welcoming, comfortable, but aesthetically pleasing environment. Good atmosphere all around.

Good food, service and atmosphere. I'm not sure if it's a smash burger place with Asian influence... or Asian place with smash burger influence. It's good either way. I went for lunch and unfortunately didn't realize many of the dishes I'd been wanting to try were only available in the evening. I sampled the calamari, brunch smash burger, and fries. They were all good (and I'm pretty picky about my burgers). Prices are in line with the average downtown experience, but felt a little high for the actual dishes. So though I wouldn't consider this a great value, neither would I be upset if friends...
