So here's how the night went. My wife and I get here for our friends birthday, she'd never eaten sushi. We get a table instantly because it's not packed, a few people but not packed. Now the wait begins, ten minutes goes by we get our drinks so that's cool. 30 minutes has passed I get one refill, the only at the table despite several empty glasses. An hour has passed, it's been uncomfortable waiting while the waitress neglects our empty cups, I think she senses our displease. About 70 minutes has passed a waitress finally comes to say sorry about the wait, asks if we want edamame on the house.. cool we got the beans. We see the chefs pumping out rolls and we see pick up orders going out like crazy. They have ignored there fact that we had been waiting for food for over an hour in order to get pick up orders out. But there wait continues. On the verge, the very tip of deciding to leave a plate comes towards our table, mind you this is almost 2 hours after first ordering food. Now you may ask why we didn't just leave, well I'm a very patient man and on top of that it was at the point of the day where things were starting to close so we were basically locked in to sushi cafe. The food was good I can't complain about that. But all in all I probably won't be coming back to sushi cafe west, this instance just created such...
Read moreUpdate: Sushi cafe has reached out to me to make amends for my previous experience. I think that shows their professionalism. For clarity, this was at the Sushi Cafe West location and the take out order was picked up by my husband (not a third party delivery service). The date was on or around June 30th, 2021.
I’m sad about Sushi Cafe right now. I love their food and have for a long time. But a few weeks ago I ordered take out and that’s when it all went downhill. My fried rice with chicken had not one, but two separate foreign objects in it. The first I came across was a rock or piece of shell from something. It nearly broke my tooth, but I was relieved that it was me and not my toddler, who was sharing my rice. Then, I discovered another difficult to chew object, which seems to be steel wool or something similar. I realize sharing this weeks later isn’t ideal, but I thought I could let it go given their positive track record. However, I find myself hesitant to return because I am left wondering how many other non-food items I have accidentally ingested simply because they were disguised as delicious fried rice. If my review was retroactive to this event, they easily get 5 stars, but after this, I don’t know if I...
Read moreSo the sushi was fire! Really good! However, we ordered 2 entrees and ate 3 bites. Basically, the sushi chef knows his stuff. The chef in the kitchen needs to be replaced!
The fried rice wasn't fried. Meat was basically non-existent. Tasted like wheat rice. I got a noodle dish, I love Asian noodles. This wasn't it. It seemed to be covered in some tangy hot sauce, not Asian-made. Tasted more like they dumped Frank's red hot all over the dish after it was prepared.
The bottom line, is you want Sushi, this place is great. Anything else, run for the hills.
The server boxed up the 2 meals that were BARELY touched and offered no compensation. She didn't seem to care that we didn't eat any. Even after I told her they were terrible. Didn't offer to give us something else. Nothing. I basically waited $30 on two dinners I wouldn't...
