This was the first sushi restaurant my husband and I tried when we first moved to Arkansas 2 years ago and I remember we had great service and the food was decent. Naturally I wanted to introduce this place to my friend and I was pretty excited. To my dismay, the service was poor and we were belittled by I’m guessing the manager. Originally our waiter gave us time to pick what we wanted, but he didn’t come back until AT LEAST 20 minutes later. When he finally comes back he takes our order using a hand held tracker that I’m assuming is paired to their overall notification system. The only thing I ordered was the sashimi lunch special and the salad to go with it. We started noticing that the people who came in after us and ordered AFTER us received their appetizers before we did and all I had was a salad. We gave it more time, but we needed to leave given the time constraint we had. Well this is where we were treated badly. We said it’s been about an hour since we’ve been there and haven’t seen any of our food. The lady assigned to us checked how long it’s been and said it’s been 22 minutes on their end according to their system. Well she didn’t account the fact that we had to wait 20 minutes just for our server to come back and take our order. The time she has was the time from when we finally got to order our food. She tried to charge us for the same food we did not receive or eat. All we wanted to do is pay for our drinks and leave, but she wouldn’t let us without telling us some little remarks. We told her we didn’t want the food anymore and that we had to leave because of work. She then preceded to tell us “yeah well everyone has to, and we are not like a CHINESE restaurant. We make everything fresh.” Then why was the salad not out after 22 minutes but the person who ordered after us received their soup? Anyway, at this point since my family is part Chinese, I was offended by that little comment, but because I was raised to be respectful, I let her stop herself. I prayed she didn’t say anything else. The only respite my friend and I had was another customer asking the same lady to send their waiter because they have been waiting for him as well.
My advice is this. Please refrain from saying anything race related to your customers. I am from Seattle, Washington and I am also Asian. I am related to family members who ARE CHINESE. I know what CHINESE food and restaurants are, and are not like. Do not assume that because my friend is African American and that because my skin tone is brown that I do not know anything about Asian or Asian inspired food. Read moreTerrible experience here today. I went with 3 other co-workers. The waitress we were assigned was extremely rude. She walked off in the middle of one of my co-workers trying to place an order and then tried not to come back at all until I basically had to flag her down, she brought food out piece-meal and let the other food sit out for a while before bringing it, she refilled my drink once after almost 30 minutes, she rolled her eyes at us more than once and then disappeared after we got our food and we had to get another waitress to bring our checks (and then that waitress also disapeared). There were only 3 tables in the whole restaurant for lunch today, so completely ridiculous that everything took so long and a terrible attitude with it. The food was not great. Habachi shrimp had zero flavor. The soy sauce bottles had the lids mixed up, so the green one had more sodium. The fried rice was kind of dry and not very warm or flavorful. The California Roll I had was ok. One co-worker couldn't even eat the Miso soup it tasted so terrible (that may just be miso soup though, I don't like it at all). Read moreOur experience was HORRIBLE!!! Went last nite for our adult daughters birthday. They sat us in a room off to the side. After 15 mins I had to go find someone to see if they forgot us. 10 mins later someone came to our table. Never got refill on drinks until I went to ask for one 10 mins before we left & we were there 2 hrs!!! My drink & food wasn’t correct. Never did fix the problem. My daughter didn’t get the sushi she ordered until we were about to leave Bc they never came back to check on us. Our food came out & we had not even gotten our soup & salads yet. There was 1 (ONE) server & the bartender (who was actually serving as a server) for the WHOLE restaurant. There was only 3 tables sat when we arrived & an entire restaurant full when we left. I don’t care about a sign stating new mgmt, they need to hire & have servers to take care of your customers. This was a bad experience for a special occasion & not good enough for a $200+ meal!!! $25 for hibachi was bad value considering my steak was WAY over cooked & hard & chicken was hard as well.
