Today I am thankful for a supportive family, great friends & of course bomb f%&king beer! 🍻🍻🍺
Schilling Beer Co. says enough is enough & it's time for a change, traditional beers are a few years from being the norm again. Ahead of the curve, I have really began to respect these guys in the past couple years especially. The dedication & straight up perfection of styles like pilsners, lagers, wits & wild ales+ shows the love they have for more "old school" offerings. My second time here I visited both taprooms with my friend Petros The Super Greek & we had a wood fired pizza which was absolutely phenomenal after three beers let me tell youuu what. 🍻🍺🔥
We did it big this trip, with myself getting five different pours over the three hours we spent between the two taprooms. The standouts were definitely the SCHLAUMEIER Hefeweizen which was a well above average Hefe. The second pour was the POPPY'S MOONSHIP WITH RASPBERRIES which was a good gose. My third new pour for the day was BLEND NO. 1 ON HONEYBERRIES which was the pour & pint of the night with a absurd amount of layered flavor that was everything it said it was plus diabetes with the sugar. 🍻🍺😂🔥
I mean just look at the pictures, this place f%&king slays harrrd with the atmosphere and setting. Between both taprooms separated by mere feet theres plenty to check out, see, love & take in. All the seating you can think of is available with a beautiful view of the river with a classic covered bridge directly next to the breweries. My man Petros & I each had a bomb cigar at the end of the bridge to cap off a perfect brewery trip. (Thanks brother) This is how it's done, Schilling beer f&%ks like a champion. 🍻🍻🍺🔥☘🍁
BEERGASM RATING - 9/10 DEFINITELY MESSAGING IN THE MORNING 🍻🍻🍆💦💦

Read moreThe beer and food are good, but the service is mean spirited and awful. The two older men in the Store & Tasting Room section were extremely rude and unwelcoming.
As soon as I walked up to order, one of them leaned against the bar with one hand, in a cold intimidating posture and stared daggers at me. After they angrily stared at me for a few seconds I asked for a small pour of #4 and #10 and he angrily exclaimed "Which one is that?!" While practically flinging a nearby menu around to look.
When I returned to buy a pack to go, the other bartender also had a hostile attitude. I was trying to remember the name of the four pack I wanted and spoke a bit too queitly to which he said "you need to speak up". He was practically fuming angry the whole time and was going to escalate things even further until my brother found the beer on the menu and told him the name.
The people in the kitchen were the saving grace—they were kind, and the food was good.
I was planning to buy merch, but after that kind of treatment, I don’t feel good about supporting the company anymore.
I went on a Vermont brewery trip (Freak Folk, The Alchemist, Hill Farmstead) and was genuinely excited to include Schilling. I even buy their beer at home. But after how I was treated, I’m reconsidering that.
I like this place’s mission. But please treat customers with respect and show appreciation to the people who travel to support you.
I go to breweries in Maine all the time and know how to be respectful and polite. Something they didn't care to show me. They literally got angry when all I had done was walk to the counter to order. They acted like they wanted to yell at me.
Out of Every brewery I've been to both on this trip and in Maine this is the worst customer service. When the guy was staring daggers 🗡️ at me it was like he hated my guts...
Never expected visiting this place to...
Read moreCame upon this place in our travels during our family vacation was really excited to try this place out since I am an avid craft beer lover and blogger! Location is very nice on a river bank with lots of rocks and gorgeous walking bride pictured below! Food was good they have a food tuck as well along with a kitchen! Just pizza for main dishes out of the kitchen and food tuck has some more options of sandwiches fries and hotdogs! Live music was on the agenda that night so made for nice outdoor dining atmosphere! Now the beer since entering the industry of blogging about beer I’ve met tons of brewery owners, brewers and staff alike! I would give the service on the beer front 2 out of 5 stars! My first brew was stellar no issues there but when it came to finding the next one I was puzzled as I was looking for a stout but they had none on tap which was odd but ok! The waitress offered me a darker amberish brew with coffee and walnuts I said ok but when it arrived it was horrible! When asked if I could change it immediately I was told no sorry we don’t do that here!!! Again odd as everywhere else I’ve gone to in my travels it’s always exchangeable based on the nature of some brews! Normally a brew like this the sever would know that is a unique taste would you like to try it first as it’s not always what people think as I thought more coffee than nut but it was all nut! I had to plead my case almost beg which at that point ruined the evening! To when they came back and said they would void it out and get me a new one but by this time 10-15 mins had passed and my family was ready to go in the end bad experience and they should try and be more understanding when it comes to issues like this! Sometimes it comes down to doing the right thing to make the experience great!...
