My first time in, and I'm sold 100% on this place. I get bored with new buildings with no heart and soul. If you like places that have walls that probably could tell volumes of stories, this is a place for you. I almost don't want to tell everybody how cool this place is in order to save a seat for myself. Before you even set foot inside the doors, you get a tingly feeling in your tummy that says, "we've been waiting for you". But do step inside, that's when you see the beauty that they've brought out in this majestic location. I started out light and had a bowl of the chicken lemon rosemary soup. I then decided to have this particular night's special, which was the off-the-beaten path for an Irish pub----spaghetti and meatballs, as dessert. Call my thinking what you will, but it was the best dessert I've had in awhile. In fact, some of the best meatballs and gravy...capeesh? Probably shouldn't have mentioned that because it isn't available most of the time. You can blame my amazing server Tee-Jay for letting me slip on that one. Anyway, my wife had the O'Donnell which I sneaked a bite of, and wow! Yeah, good. I forgot to take pics, but I will be back in about a week and update this. Plenty of beers of all styles on draught and bottles/cans. Full liquor bar with great staff to make what your palette desires. They also have live music. Check events on the website. Some great acts play here. Every downtown needs this place, but they only have it in Lockhart. So come and...
Read moreWe have experience in opening a food business and just want to share our positive aspects of what we saw and constructive criticism. We love the thought of an Irish Pub in town, by the way. The hostes's were very friendly and helpful. There was a bartender that seemed out of place, not knowing how to manage people and drinks. Our appetizer was the artichoke dip, and the artichoke wasn't properly prepped...very fibrous. There weren't any paper napkins when asked for them. The waitress, Sara, was very professional, helpful, and sweet. Our food was taken to another table by mistake, then back to the kitchen, then brought to us. The soup was Luke warm, not at temp. The corned beef was tough and dry...very little dressing and sauerkraut. We love the environment and definitely will return in a couple of months. Thank you for doing all you do for Lockhart. We love this place and the variety of...
Read moreI might have gotten to visit a little before the official grand opening, but I was genuinely amazed by how beautiful the place is! There's no question about it. And let's talk about the artichoke dip—it's honestly the best I've ever tasted, and I absolutely adore artichokes!
The dip isn't overly creamy, which is perfect for those of us who prefer something a little gentler on the stomach. Denis mentioned their tomato soup is vegan, which is fantastic news for me and my kid, as creamy dishes can be tough on our bellies.
The staff are wonderful and the breads are perfectly toasted, so you won't have to struggle to enjoy them. Eating Denis’ grandmother’s lentil soup feels like a warm hug from family, and it tastes so good that it makes you feel like part of the O’Donnell clan.
I can’t wait to come back and share some photos—this place is an incredible addition...
