If you ever wonder where to get Dominican 🇩🇴 food in Bergen county, there is absolutely no need to drive all the way to Manhattan. All one got to do is stop by Lula’s Latin Cuisine in Lodi. You will not only get an absolutely delicious food by an amazing host/owner, Reimy and his team. I had the privilege of stopping by tonight to finally get one of the specials rabo guisado (oxtail stew), white rice with black beans for takeout. Upon arrival, their small parking lot in front is shared with another establishment off the busy Essex Street. It’s a small establishment with a great selection of food. There were some seatings by the window, but predominately takeout. Their price was reasonable and portion size decent. The first time I ate here here, I happened to be passing by the area and just wanted some grub. On the surface, this looks like a regular counter-serve Latin cafe, but it toally blew my expectations out of the water. Since my first visit, I've gone well out of my way just to get back here, and believe you me, there's frankly not much going on around here besides Lula's.

Everything is cooked to perfection, especially the pork, with amazing yucca and rice to complement it. The pork skin is also like straight up candy - they could sell just that pork and rice and it would never get old. However, there's also some amazing chicken and beef choices, as well as oxtail soup.

Had noticed a new restaurant in the neighborhood & decided to give it a try. Not many LATIN restaurants in the area. Wasn’t in the mood to cook so I ordered lunch for my family of 3. Upon entering the restaurant the aroma of the food was flavorful & inviting. Restaurant was immaculately clean which was another plus & the staff & owners were very friendly. Mask were worn & social distancing in place. We ordered Grilled salmon, Chicken chicharron, Steak & Roast Pork. We ordered Moro rice as the side. EVERYTHING WAS DELICIOUS!!
