SO WHERE DO I START. IF I COULD GIVE ReBAR 10 STARS I WOULD. THE PLACE WAS FANTASTIC. AS SOON AS WE WALKED IN WE WERE HAPPILY GREETED BY NOT ONLY THE STAFF BUT THE OWNER HIMSELF. THE OWNER GERARD SPOKE WITH IS FOR QUITE A BIT BOTH BEFORE WE ATE AND AFTER WE FINISHED. HE WAS A NICE DOWN TO EARTH GUY. THE FOOD AND DRINKS WERE ON POINT. MY HUSBAND HAD AN IPA THE BARTENDER RECOMMENDED AND I HAD THE POMEGRANATE MARGARITA. BOTH DELICIOUS. WE COULD NOT DECIDE ON WHAT TO EAT AS EVERYTHING LOOKED SO APPETIZING ON THE MENU. AS WE WERE TRYING TO FIGURE OUT WHAT TO ORDER WE HEARD A PATRON THAT WAS LEAVING SAY HOW THE BURGER HE HAD WAS THE BEST HE'S HAD IN NJ. THAT PEAKED OUR CURIOSITY, SO BURGERS IT WAS. I HAD A CHEESEBURGER WHICH WAS SO JUICY AND TASTY THAT FOR ME THERE WAS NO NEED FOR ANY EXTRAS ON IT. MY HUSBAND HAD THE BOURBON ST. BURGER WHICH HE SAID WAS DELICIOUS AND PERFECTLY COOKED. IT WAS NOT LIKE OTHER PLACES WHERE YOU ORDER A BURGER WITH CHILLI ON IT AND THE BURGER IS DRIPPING WITH THE CHILLI AND SOPPING WET THAT YOU CANT EVEN ENJOY IT. WE ALSO ORDERED THE SHRIMP WITH CHORIZO AS AN APPETIZER AND IT WAS SO DELICIOUS WE WERE FIGHTING FOR THE BREAD IT CAME WITH TO SOAK UP THE SAUCE IT WAS IN. OUR WAITER WAS VERY ATTENTIVE AND CAME BY TO CHECK ON US FREQUENTLY. WHILE STILL THERE I WAS ALREADY TEXTING MY FAMILY THAT WE FOUND A NEW PLACE TO EAT AT. WE CONSIDER OURSELVES FOODIES AND WILL MOST DEFINITELY BE BACK TO TRY THE OTHER ITEMS ON THE MENU. WE ARE SOLID CUSTOMERS FROM HERE ON OUT. A MUST TRY IF YOU ARE IN THE AREA. YOU WILL NOT BE...
Read moreOccupied on the former site of the Thirsty Toad, this establishment is located right off Route 80 across from the Wawa, behind a bus stop on Essex Street in Lodi, where we have passed numerous times. My partner and I were first-timers here tonight for dinner. Upon arrival, the outside of a simple one-story building, ReBAR & Kitchen, doesn’t exactly scream “great food” through its dark windows, whose entrance is in the back by the parking lot. Upon entering, the interior is cool, rustic, dark, and industrial, with a separate bar offering a wide variety of beers (14) from their main dining room. There's an outside patio for dining, weather permitting. Greeted by one of the staff, we were promptly seated at a high table where other patrons were enjoying their meal. The menu seems to have the usual bar food: starters, sandwiches, wings, and burgers, but it also has specials. We decided on the Big Al Burger (imported Swiss cheese, sautéed onions, and mushrooms) served on a brioche bun accompanied by fries and the Rebar Cuban (slow-cooked roast pork with black forest ham, salami, Swiss, pickles, mayo, and mustard) with fries. The food took a little while as it was busy. Surprisingly, they were tasty, well-seasoned, and delicious. The burger was perfectly seared, juicy, and cooked exactly the way it was ordered. The Cuban had a nice crunch without a panini press. The fries were perfectly paired, crispy outside, and cut thick. Portions are large. Prices were fair, the staff was friendly, and our server was Maggie. We can...
Read moreI typically don't leave one-star reviews, but the circumstances here were unacceptable. As someone who works in the cannabis industry adjacent to a bar, we frequently have customers enter our establishment smelling of alcohol. However, we would never consider spraying them due to the odor. With that being said. What happened last night at Re-Bar was embarassing and Inappropriate. Since cannabis is legal I was able to consume before entering this bar. I was with 2 other co workers. Upon entering our waitress greeted us and brought us to our table. My coworker was very pleasant and complemented her and they had a nice little conversation right as we sat down. Couple minutes later, she came back with Febreze, and proceeded to just spray literally around the table multiple times to the point where we could taste it in our mouths. She was doing that she just kept saying I’m really sorry my boss is very old-fashioned and he doesn’t like the smell and we had a complaint just now. As she proceeded to spray vigorously. It was very embarrassing and degrading. It’s a shame considering the service and the food Was fantastic. I wonder if this would’ve happened if we were smoking cigarettes. Being that cannabis is now legal I’ve never would’ve expected that and that had never happened to me even before it was legal. Again our waitress was really nice and the food was really good, but I will never be going back due to that uncomfortable experience we had. It was a bar after all, so I’m sure there was a lot of drunk...
