Highly disappointed with this facility. I came here on 03/09/2023. This was my first spray tan ever, so I was very excited. My friend was also getting a spray tan with me, and it was her first time as well. Everything went smoothly at first and I asked the girl who was helping me what color she would recommend for my skin tone since my friend and I are both very pale. She recommended a medium color and I agreed and said I would like to do medium. Everything went good, I paid, and she directed me to the room. She was very informative when I got inside the room since I was unsure of what to do since I got the versa spa pro sprat tan. After she left I got in and proceeded tanning. However, when I got out I seemed to not be very tan, even though I got the option that it would show right away. I went back to the front to wait for my friend to get the same spray tan as me. As she was about to pay for her spray tan, another girl was helping her out. My friend said she wanted medium like I had gotten, but her price was higher than what I paid. When asking why, the girl that was helping her out informed us that the color that was requested for me was light. (which is not what I had informed the girl I wanted). The girl went to talk to the person who helped me out and said they would figure it out. So I wait for my friend to finish up her spray tan and I talk to the girl who helped me and asked her what will happen. She became visibly annoyed and said yes it was her mistake and she will contact her manager to get this fixed, and she was certain it would get fixed. She was unclear about this however and I sat down and waited, thinking I would get it the same day. At the end she looked at me confused and said I can go that she or her manager will give me a call in a few days. I have been waiting for a call that I have yet to receive. Though she was helpful at first, it seems as if she has not called her manager. I regret now that I did not get their names when I had a chance as I would have called and spoken to the manager myself. As a worker myself in the customer service industry, I understand more than anyone that mistakes get made and it is okay. However, I have been waiting for days and have not received a call from anyone about the mistake that was made. At the end of the day, I spent my money on a service that I did not request, and I was told something would be done about this. As a customer, I am highly unsatisfied with the services that were performed for me at this location, and I don't think I will ever give this place a second chance as they seem not to care too much about satisfying their customers.

My daughter had an appointment for 6-4 at 10:30pm for an airbrush tan for her prom the next day! On 6-3, an associate called and said whoever made the appointment screwed up and the airbrush tech leaves at 9pm that day so we needed to change the time. My daughter had a softball dinner at 7 (planned for months) and all of the other typical prom rush preparations so we truly weren't in a position to change times however, I said I would bring her in right after her dinner so between 8:30 or 8:45 but I did say I would come earlier IF I could but could not promise that. I was told no problem, just be there by 8:45. The day of the appointment I called around 6pm just to confirm since there was already a mistake on their part. Well, then I was told that the person scheduled it for 8:15 and after explaining everything, I was told sorry, there's nothing they can do and if she's not there by 8:15 she would not be able to get spray tanned. I was also told that someone was scheduled for 8:30, 9 and 9:30! How could my daughter be at a restaurant with her entire team at 7pm, eat, get her awards and be at beach bum by 8:15? Why would the person make her appointment for that time when I CLEARLY told them 8:30-8:45? To tell me there's nothing they could do and offer me NOTHING to compensate for the now TWO mistakes already. This was for prom, they knew that. I would of been happy to accommodate the time change or reschedule if it was a possibility but there was just no way. I'm so disappointed and was treated terribly. On top of that, my daughter was not able to get the look she desired for her BIG day. It's not the end of the world considering all of the things going on and sicknesses etc but this was a big day for my daughter and we had to get nails, toes, eyebrows first before the spray tan and we accommodated all of those things for this tan. it was too late for us to make arrangements to find another place to do this. I really have no other complaint. The staff are friendly, the store is clean etc. But I'm extremely disappointed and feel I let my daughter down. Thanks beach bum. Iām writing this review specifically for the Beach Bum Tanning Salon in Lodi, NJ, and not all Beach Bum locations. Iāve been a loyal customer, consistently purchasing Diamond Level tanning packages because of the enhanced experience these beds offer customizable music, full-body ventilation, face tanning controls, and most importantly, the cool mist spray throughout the session. Unfortunately, during my recent visit, I was incredibly disappointed. About 3 minutes into my 10-minute session, I realized the cool mist spray was not working at all. When I arrived, the front desk associate mentioned the bed had just received new bulbs and asked if I wanted to proceed with the full time but said nothing about any features not working. After the session, when I brought up the issue, her response was simply, āIāll let someone know.ā No apology. No acknowledgment. Just brushed off. Itās unacceptable that equipment isnāt fully checked after maintenance, especially when customers are paying for a premium experience. This lack of communication and accountability has made it clear that I wonāt be returning to this location.
