We called in an order a couple of weeks ago for curbside pickup. They screwed it up pretty bad, it was quite frustrating. We ordered 3 entrees: one with 2 sides, one with one side, and one with no sides (in hindsight, it may have been simpler to order each with one side, but we were deciding while we called). We had a couple of substitutions and requests, such as lettuce wraps instead of pitas on 2 of the 3 entrees, and grilled falafel instead of fried on the 3rd one. When we got there, 5-10 minutes after they said it would be ready, it was 5 minutes+ before they brought our food out to us. Good thing we looked at it before leaving. They missed one of the entrees entirely (one that was supposed to have a lettuce wrap), put a lettuce wrap on the one that wasn't supposed to have one, and the falafel was fried instead of grilled, and quite small compared to the pictures online and past experience. They also gave us rice instead of fries. We were charged what should have been the full amount for what we ordered. When we brought this up, the server said she'd take care of it. Another 10 minutes later, she brought out the missing gyro (but with a pita instead of a lettuce wrap), pita for the falafel sandwich that had a lettuce wrap that wasn't supposed to (when we got home we discovered the pitas were sliced, so that didn't work for the sandwich), and the fries in exchange for the rice we didn't order. Then she said she needed to run our card again, but that she'd comp the side, which I'm not sure she did. I'm pretty sure we were overcharged. Even if we weren't it would've been nice for them to add what they missed free of charge, since it was their mistake, they got so many things wrong, and we had to wait for them to get what we ordered on the phone. As it was, the food was barely warm by the time we got home. Notwithstanding all that, it was pretty delicious! The shawarma was good, the gyro stacks up with any takeout you can get in Utah, the fries were unique and tasty, and they have so many options for different fries it was hard to choose. The whole menu looks pretty good. I'd definitely give them another chance, but....not until dine-in is available again. With how bad our order was botched I won't do...
Read moreMy boyfriend and I went one evening recently about an hour before they closed, and I could tell they weren't expecting customers for the rest of the night. None of the tables had been bussed, no employees were out in the lobby, and the food was a little underwhelming. I hope it was just because it was the end of the night or something, but yeah. We both got gyro combos, mine with fries and his with falafel. The fries are super good- very crispy and just the right amount of salt. The falafel were pretty good as well, my first time having them. The gyros, however, were a bit of a let down. There was not enough meat, and it also tasted a bit bland. The meat didn't taste the freshest, and I again just hope because it was close to closing. It was a rather mid quality gyro, out of the ones I've had. Our server was friendly, but the menus are a little confusing- I thought I had read on the window display that the combo comes with a drink, but it doesn't say that anywhere in the menu and also you're asked what you'd like to drink before getting the menu, so we just had waters with our combos. I could have read the display wrong, but it felt strange to not mention anything on the menu. Also the atmosphere is a little... Odd? The outside look of the restaurant makes you think order and pay at the counter and food is brought over, not sit down and order off a menu, then pay your bill at the end. It seemed like it was trying too hard to be fancier, when I think it could be more comfortable if it didn't take itself as seriously. I think you'll probably have a better experience if you go earlier in the evening, as a lot of the other reviews here are positive, but my experience was a little twilight zone feeling being the only customers in the restaurant, surrounded by...
Read moreThe food is out of this world delicious. My companion and I had planned to go to Angie’s for a late lunch, but the place was still super packed so we wandered into here. Best decision ever.
The lamb gyro was fresh and flavorful, the tzatziki sauce was light and refreshing, the Greek fries were deliciously sour, and the cucumber limeade was an unorthodox combination of perfectly sweet but also mild which made it perfect to have with the rich and creamy homemade artichoke spinach dip.
The artichoke dip we had as an appetizer while we waited for our food and was the perfect meal starter. Just coming in from the cold and snow, this hot dish was perfect to whet our appetites and make us hungry. Very creamy and flavorful, it is the very essence of what a comfort dish should be. The pita were crisp and buttery, only adding to what the dip offered.
Having stolen a few bites off my companion’s plate I can say with confidence that the chicken was some of the best I’ve ever had. Spiced perfectly and cooked to tender juiciness, it was definitely the main star of the plate. The rice was toothsome and the classical Greek rice, slightly lemony but not so much as to overwhelm the pallet. With a side of tzatziki sauce, here was where I was able to taste it fully. Very creamy without the yogurt’s tang becoming overbearing and lightly tasting of cucumber when sampled alone, it becomes a flavor that escalated any dish. Piling everything onto the pita it is served with combines all the flavors perfectly, with the pita being soft, pillowy, and delicious.
A definite favorite to be sure. My companion and I plan to return soon,...
