INSANELY AMAZING PIZZA.
Ordered easily online before we got there; grabbed beers at Project Barley and waited just a few minutes for pizza paradise.
My friend and I consider ourselves pizza snobs and we were absolutely blown away by how good this was and why it took us four years to find the best pizza right under our noses.
We shared a large 86th Street between the 3 of us and finished it off happily and easily. The cheesey, tomato saucey, basily ratio was perfect. The melted cheese pull was a thing of beauty at the first grabbed slice. The bright, super flavorful tomato sauce was ample (so many places skimp on sauce) and delicious and the crust had the perfect flavor and chew for which we snobs search the planet.
Service was friendly and prompt; they brought our piping hot pizza to us in the brewery along with plates, utensils and napkins and even gave our furry friend treats.
Around these parts, we typically get pizza at the following places:
Costco (fairly decent and cheap, great for parties) Lamppost in Torrance (tasty American pizza) Raffaellos in Palos Verdes (tasty American pizza...awesome Torpedo deluxe sandwiches) Bonellos on Narbonne (tasty) Sorrentos in Pedro (Very good, expensive) Fat Tomato in Rolling Hills (decent) Eatalian in Gardena (authentic Naples style pizza) Masa in Echo Park (Amazing Chicago style pizza) Rance's in Long Beach (delicious Chicago style pizza) L'Antica Pizzareia da Michele in Hollywood (crazy good Italian style pizza)
And we'll trek all the way to San Clemente and beyond for my favorite, Pizza Port, but seriously, Pizza Kraft will now be my go-to.
It's just a day later and I am craving PIZZA KRAFT again....
Read moreThis address, by way of the DoorDash restaurant Brooklyn Calzones, made me the worst meal I've ever had in my life.
My wife and I ordered two calzones, plus mozzarella sticks and garlic knots. Right out of the box, one calzone looked underdone. Like, forgot-to-cook-it-and-blowtorch-it underdone. See pictures. It tastes like raw dough
I didn't think it'd be possible, but the sides were worse. The mozzarella sticks were below passable -- they were dry and tasteless, while also being mostly air. See pictures. The garlic knots were an embarrassment to the word 'food'. They were heavily salted, in an attempt to cover up the abysmal flavor. This did not work. They tasted like cardboard that had been left out in the rain, if the rain was God afflicted by a particular potent one of their calzones.
The garlic knots' sole salvation was that they came with marinara sauce with which to drown them in. Unfortunately, about 1/3 of the way through, we discovered that this sauce was made in-house. Below that level, the sauce tasted like someone attached a pepper mill to a drill and went to town. It was far, FAR too much black pepper, and I love black pepper. It tasted like our sauce was mostly black pepper by volume.
If nothing else, this restaurant reassured me that I don't have long COVID, as if I was entirely lacking in taste, perhaps I could have given it 2 stars. And for 75$? I'd have rather...
Read moreI was craving pizza and wanted to try a new spot. I found Pizza Kraft in Lomita. I ordered an order ahead of time online. When it said it was ready, I pulled in and parked. There is a small parking lot in the back. I went in and walked up to the counter. I waited for about 10 minutes until I was finally acknowledged. During my visit, two guys were working and I know they saw me standing there. After 10 mins, one of them finally spoke and said we will be right with you. After another 5 mins, he asked what can I get you. I told him I placed an online order and it said it was ready. He asked for my name and said the pizza is just about to come out. However, as I was watching them, my pizza was ready and was in the hot oven already in the box, they just forgot to make my macaroni cheese balls. So I watched them quickly throw them in the fryer. Finally, my order was ready.
When I went home, the pizza seemed like it was sitting in the hot oven for awhile and just didn't taste the freshest. The macaroni balls we're disgusting! They were not cooked all the way and we're just terrible. They were unbeatable and I just threw them all away.
I won't be coming back. I can cross this spot...
