Bestall Inn — Hotel in Lomita

This unpretentious, old-fashioned motel has been my "go-to' place to stay when in LA for the last 15 years.Not fancy, but you have everything you need- great bed, microwave, fridge -wifi, cable-all at an extremely good price. I particularly like how they have kept the old , dense plantings (see pix) .Some rooms have a small kitchen. there's a great donut and coffee place across the street, along with an excellent "hamburger Bistro " next door to it. I'd read nice things about the place and decided to check it out. The grounds are well kept but the out side of the cabins look a little seedy. I never saw the inside. I stepped into the office and the proprietor came out with "Whaduyouwant" expression I asked for a room for just me for one night. He muttered $110. One hundred and ten? For one night? He knodded. My husband and I are literally standing in the office right this second to ask about their weekly and monthly rates and have been here for over 15 minutes! I can see an older woman and a man in another room, and she has leaned forward 5 or 6 times now and has seen us standing here. I have called 3 times also. Yet there is no one coming to even greet us or say anything! This was the most ridiculous experience I have had to deal with! Absolutely horrible customer...
