I honestly will never go back again. I'm not a picky person, but I do like my waiter to come by at least once while I'm trying to spend my money to eat a meal.
Not sure if we arrived too early, if that's even a thing in a restaurant, but the service was awful. Food was mediocre at best.
First off, we walked inside and stood there next to several people sitting on a bench on their phones. Workers? Family? Idk. But there we stood for several minutes before being greeted by the host/waiter and told we could sit where we liked.
We sat at the sushi bar since we were primarily going to order sushi. At least 15 minutes passed before he even came to offer a menu. Before he rushed away I had to flag him down for a water at least. He never came back to take any order or see if we wanted anything else. We ordered with the sushi chef who was also cold but responsive at least. Had to ask for wasabi, ginger and even soy sauce. Sushi was a little warm. But ok.
After ordering a few items and not being impressed, we waited for the host/waiter to come by so we could ask for a check. Again, some time went by, and as we waited a man came in and sat near us. Low and behold, the host/waiter comes by within minutes with a menu, sets him up with chop sticks and acondiment plate, takes his order and promptly brings back a water and miso soup! Sushi chef hands him a set of wasabi and ginger! Wow! What service!
I regret spending any money in this...
Read moreI have been coming here for a while. Prior to the end of the pandemic I had only ever order delivery order for pick up. I recently with into the location and I don't like that experience as much which is the reason why I'm giving it for stars. I would not recommend getting the chicken wings for any reason, go somewhere else. The owner is always there and lingers in hovers over the waiters which inhibits their ability to truly help you in a way that leaves you satisfied. I can't figure out whether or not I am coming back here, or if I am just going to find somewhere else because I was going out of my way to come here anytime I did and my last experience here left me feeling like I could do without. I ordered about 5 to 6 different types of sushi and I didn't receive one. After about 30 minutes, I told them never mind. They had forgotten about it. I got all of my food items in waves and to be completely honest with you it was an odd way to receive food. My experience ordering takeout is that of stars. But my experience In house, might make it to where I...
Read moreOkane Umi is a great sushi spot with a wide selection on the menu. It was my first time there, and I wanted to try everything, so I went with the Omakase to let the chef serve the freshest fish of the day. I chose the U56 Premium Sushi Omakase ($50) and U57 Sushi & Sashimi Omakase ($80). I expected a traditional Omakase experience where sushi is served one piece at a time, but instead, all 10 pieces were served at once. Even so, the chef’s choice of sashimi was fresh and tasted amazing. For the price, the quality of the fish is definitely worth it. We also ordered fresh oysters, and they were super fresh as well. I’ll definitely be back to try more from the menu.
Quick tips: The Omakase is enough to share between two people. Perfect if you want a great selection without deciding what to order. Plenty of parking is available, and reservations are recommended for dinner. They also have Lunch Special from Mon to Fri...
