Chips and Salsa: The chips were flavorless and stale. The salsa was underseasoned, and when we asked if it was mild or spicy, we were told mild, but my boyfriend (who loves spicy food) thought it was a bit spicy and neither of us liked it Drinks: We both got water, I got mine with lemon. The lemon was bad, and the water tasted terrible, it tasted dirty, as if the filter had not been cleaned in years. The ice was cloudy white when in my experience, ice SHOULD be clear. Food: Me and my boyfriend decided to share a steak fajita with extra tortillas. Every Mexican restraunt we have ever been to gives 3 tortillas. Here we were given two that were soggy and as small as my boyfriend's hand. Personally, that is not nearly enough to finish a plate of fajitas. The rice that came with it was disgusting and rubbery. The steak (if it can even be called that) was gelatinous and fatty with zero flavor or texture. The peppers and onions were well seasoned, but very overcooked. Everything on the fajitas had the texture of chewy baby food. The Lettuce was watery and slimy. The only props I'll give is that the refried beans were amazing. Staff: The staff were fine, except our server, we asked for refills on water (as my boyfriend drinks alot) and we never received it until I went up to the front counter twice. We had also asked for an extra plate in which I had to re-ask for said plate three times before getting a dirty plate. If I could give this place a zero star,...
Read moreWas very hopeful when I walked in and was seated. The hostess brought chips and salsa but the chips seemed somewhat stale and the salsa resembled a kind of ketchup more than anything, which was disappointing. The menu illustrated several tantalizing dishes and after deliberating a while, I ended up ordering the shrimp and steak fajitas, 2 enchiladas verdes a la carte, as well as the table-side guacamole; incidentally, it was the guacamole that turned out to be the star of the meal. The fajita dish came out first and wasn't the correct dish, so they had to correct. Then the enchiladas were next and were luke warm at best and the chicken tasted as though boiled and was tough, tasteless, and lacked flair. The fajitas were also bordering cold and again, the meat was overcooked and bland. The tortillas that came with it were raw and underwhelming. When the server noticed I wasn't very enthusiastic, he offered to bring to-go containers but in truth, nothing was take- home worthy except the guacamole but so little of it was left, so no need. Ultimately I was disappointed and bewildered by the restaurant fare when I had hoped for much more. I have 3 stars out of generosity but would not likely return based on my...
Read moreGood food, but it has changed since they first opened. My daughter and I always get either fajitas or fajita nachos. My husband used to love their beef chimichangas, but they began being different from everything we ordered them. We were told to order the ground beef ones, but he'd get every but ground beef. Also, they began putting too much onion in them as well. One literally had half an onion... not diced, not chopped but HALF of an onion. Needless to say, he quit ordering them from there. I also don't understand why you are forced to pay a "To Go" fee for every item that is ordered and picked up. We started eating at another local Mexican restaurant because it is somewhat cheaper. I can order the same thing from both places, and Habeneros is slightly higher than the other, and that's before the "To Go" fee is added. I went there recently after not being there in a while and had forgotten about the fee. I ordered fajita nachos and asked for the side of Pico, lettuce, and sour cream that comes with other meals. I was even charged a "To Go" fee on top of paying for the side item. So, if you are planning on going there, plan on paying any extra $0.75 for every item that you order...
