Typically, I’m very open and optimistic about restaurants and the service. Me and my significant other decided to eat dinner here for the first time ever. Immediately had a bad experience. While we were walking to our seat, we immediately noticed the amount of food and garbage that was surrounding our table. Then, we were switched servers after ordering our drinks. When ordering, the server was rude. My boyfriend asked him to substitute a side for a salad, and he replied rudely with “so you want a salad?”. We then waited 25 minutes for our food. Our salads came the same time as our entrees. My boyfriends steak was well done when he asked for medium rare, and I had ordered the chicken and dumplings, Mac and cheese, and mashed potatoes. All of it was in a bowl mixed together, with 2 pieces of corn sitting on top (gross). The server also forgot to bring the biscuits so we requested that, then had to request for the butter. He then decided to drop the plate of biscuits on the table. I should also mention that the other servers were screaming about being called a “bi**h, by another coworker, and that she was going to punch him in the face. Typically I don’t have an issue because jokes can be funny, but there were many older adults who did not enjoy it. After getting the bill, we had realized that my boyfriends 1 can of beer was $12. WOW. So my boyfriend nicely asked the waiter if that was right for one can, and he said “yeah it’s ridiculous”. So we paid and left. My boyfriend decided to call back and ask how much a can of beer was and they told us somewhere near 4.50. Believe me when I say I never have experiences like this one. I should also add not once did we get hateful or sound rude to the employees, we both work with the public so we understand things can get difficult. I typically have extremely good review on restaurants, but this time just did not sit right. Very poor...
Read moreGot right in and was seated despite having a large party of 8. It was a 45 min wait down the road at Berea where they took our names or we thought they did since they asked how to spell it but alas they didn't so we were happy to see we could get seated at the London, Kentucky location. Service was friendly and our order was taken. We asked for kids menus which came promptly also. Our biscuits and cornbread came out nice and hot. We had no silverware. A staff person clearing the table behind us took great care in what she was doing but never looked up once. We put butter on our biscuits by squeezing the containers and using our fingers. A while later our food came out. Still no silverware despite asking again. The server spoke to two other tables and walked by us twice. We stopped her and asked as it had been a good five minutes and we were still missing a few side items. She said they were rolling them in the back. Ha in worked in the restaurant industry before, I can say this was way too long a wait. I am patient t as I know many things are often out of the server's control. However, I do know from what I seen there was less than a smooth coordination of how things were going the day we went. We also had no manager stop by despite being there longer than any other Cracker Barrel visit. That was sort of surprising. The food was good otherwise and missing items brought promptly. (we were told the broccoli was in the microwave is is also sort of a no no). While staff meant well, please do not serve food without noticing if silverware is on the table to prevent customers from feeling neglected. It's sort of cruel to put food in front of kids with no way to cut it or eat it. It also cools way down by the time you get the silverware which is also bad for business for...
Read morehorrible service and food. staff did not care. wanted chicken and dumplings carryout.. we were driving to Florida and wanted something small. Came in and went to the host and let her know that we wanted to order carryout, told me she couldn't help me that I had to wait in the very long line at the register . .waited in the very long line to be told I needed to step to the side and they would find me a server had to call for someone three times . . who left the host and where we started out came over took our order and told us it would be 5 to 10 minutes... took us almost 40 minutes before we received our food after several comments and complaints because we were well past the time.... no one seemed concerned... when are food finally arrived no silverware I when I asked the girl at the register she said well if I have any ,only had forks and I needed a spoon and was asked if I really needed the spoon and then ,I guess I'll go get you one... never did get our ice water.. which I asked for a while I was waiting because I was thirsty. and by the time I started eating the food it was clear it had been sitting up in a window for a while because it was very lukewarm... need to have a clear process for carry out.. I get that it might not happen all the time but I can go into Bob Evans and it's extremely organized... I'm not shoved to the side and forgotten about and getting cold food and of course we're traveling so it can't be fixed because by the time I figured it out I'm now in my car driving.. when you call the store they will only fix it at that particular restaurant and I'm not going to be...
