Albarito's Mexican Fresh Food — Restaurant in Long Beach

I really love Mexican food and this is the closest venue to my home so I really want to give this place a high rating; however, I’ve received nothing but bad food and service from them. The first time we tried them, there was no substance and flavor to the food. The beans taste like they are watered down without seasoning. My meal of choice... Huevos Rancheros. The sauce tasted like it came out of a can. Our second time dining out, we were turned away because they wanted to close early. This evening would be our last and final effort to actually like this place. We purchase a cheese enchilada and Chile relleno plate along with a plain bean and cheese wet burrito, water, and flan. The woman didn’t ring us up for the flan order which we came back for only to find out we weren’t charged. We went to BK instead. I thought since we paid $21 for our meal it was covered, it turns out we got charged $10 for a plain bean and cheese burrito with canned sauce. My son was no very happy with it and said it tasted dry. My meal had no substance at all. The enchilada and chile relleno were completely flat. They covered it with lettuce to hide the size and threw a pile of cilantro and onions on the side of it to make it look like there was more to it. The beans were once again watered down and the rice had no seasoning to it. This place is just horrible! If you give them a try, be sure to ask for. Receipt and double check everything before you walk out the door. They will skimp...

1 The Lady That Works At The Front Desk is No Good At Customer Service. I Stood At The Register Waiting To Order While She Stood There Doing Other Things, and Didn’t Even Bother Saying Hello, give me one second please( or something ).

2 I Ordered My Food To-Go At 10:10 Am , And They Told Me It Would Be 5 to 10 Minutes. I Arrived And It Was Not Ready Until 10:22, Because They Never Made The Food.

3 Remember I said She Didn’t Acknowledge Me, but When The Person Behind Me Ordered She Greeted Him In The Spanish Language With A Smile. I Hate Playing The Race Card, But She Treated Those Who Spoke Her Language With Respect and Smiles.

4 When My Food Was Done She Just Raised The Bag In The Air And Put It Down. I Asked Her is That My Food? She Replied “ Yea That’s Yo Food” In A Disrespectful Tone.

Saw this place during my travels in Long Beach, and my intuition spoke to me, saying, "Give them a try. You know that you want to." I am glad that I did. I ordered a shrimp burrito with a grilled jalapeño and salsa roja and salsa verde. The young lady tending the counter gave the best customer service and made sure that I received my order and all the salsas and jalapeño for free, I left a tip in return, of course .
