Omg...as we were leaving the family in the LBC (I always wanted to say that- lol) we wanted some authentic Mexican food like what we have here in Arizona. We passed by multiple places on 4th Street and 7th Street before finally finding this little gem on the corner of 10th. We figured it's getting later in the day by the time we get back to Arizona it's bound to be 10 pm...we better stop and feed the kids. We pulled up and there were a few parking spaces that were not on the street with no struggle at all. It's not a sit down restaurant but I did note some seating to the immediate side of the small building but unfortunately it was filled with homeless people.
Nonetheless, we ordered some carne asada burritos and I ordered 6 carne asada taquitos. The tacos were rather small but super filling and the burros were a generous size. The horchata didn't taste like it was the "fake" extremely sweet stuff you often find at restaurants. It tasted so refreshing, not thick nor too sweet. It was perfectly charbroiled beef that was still juicy and sent your taste buds into a tantalizing frenzy. It did not need any added salt or lemon the flavor of it was PERFECTION.
Now when it comes to beef, I'm super picky and have high standards because it's just so damn delicious but so easy to mess up. CHEMAS has obviously perfected they're cooking techniques. We will definitely be back there when we visit again. Best of all it fed a family of 4...

This place has been here for nearly 50 years, 45 years plus, by the current owners. All there food is about as authentic as it gets. I've pleasured myself for about 10 years with their eats. Bring lots of friends and handi-wipes. If you don't mind rustic outdoor seating, and food juice all through your hands, then it's a MUST stop for the hard to please pallet craving grandma's style cooking. The personnel that run Chema's Place welcome you like you were family. Good $ value for tastey flavorful...
