ALDI — Local services in Long Beach

I had the most unpleasant and truly unbelievable experience at this Aldi location. This experience is VERY disappointing. I will never return. I went through self-checkout, and there was no attendant. In my experience, the point of sale prompts you for you to pay for a reusable bag. But in this case, it did not prompt me. When I was done transacting, I saw the paper bags, so I grabbed one and bagged my groceries. The cashier named Jay tells me..."You're supposed to pay for your bags!" So I informed her that it didn't prompt me at the terminal. She said... you're supposed to scan the paper bag! I told her that there's no guidance for the customer. An obvious gap in process. She stared at me, so I said, "I guess I will pay the next time. She began shouting at me and said...EVERYONE KNOWS THEY NEED TO PAY FOR BAGS! I told her to calm down and relax, and she began shouting at me in front of other customers on the front end. This was all due to a 13 cent bag. She said...THEN DON'T COME BACK! I came back in to speak to the manager, Vanessa, but I also felt this was unproductive and pointless. It is very clear to me that Aldi has no core values and have no regard for their customers and community they serve. When I gave the manager the 13-cent bag back, she probably should have told me to keep it and apologize for Jay's unprofessionalism and uneducated reaction. It's unfortunate that they allow this type of behavior. The caliber and the quality of associates no longer exist. At least not at Aldis. Shame...

I have observed a white security guard staring at me while I shop here. If I appear suspicious, I would appreciate it if he would approach me and request my ID and a receipt for my groceries. On May 18, 2023, he stood by the door, staring at me as I exited the store, giving me an unsettling look. I wonder if his behavior is similar to that of his coworker. Should female customers be aware of this security guard's behavior?

April 25,2025 3pm Friday This store located in East side of Long Beach, Cambodian town, so why employees and security guard have to act so racist. I walk out of store the security guard (Hispanic) came uncomfortable close without saying anything. If he wanted to ask for my receipt he should just say that. I'm glad that Aldi moved into Anaheim neighborhood. I appreciate that most of items, produce, meats, and others are neatly, and efficiently packaged. It's more instyle of European and Japanese markets. The size of packaging is for small family, less waste, and price is 50c or a dollar to $2 less per pound or per unit, I appreciate that. For a bigger family, they can buy multiple volumes. The self checks have many station which makes in and out with little efforts.

The store is well lit, ventilated, clean, and attractive pleasant to shop. The choice is adequate even though the selection is less than the other bigger chains. The choice is always lying with the customers. Try it, you might like the price that is more budget friendly, and more importantly ...
