Free medium-sized drink
Dunkin Donuts, after a long absence, has made their way back to the home of In N' Out & 2pac. Although, 2pac was originally from New York, that didn't stop him from reppin the West Coast, though. Wouldn't you? California Love, baby ;p
Back to Double D's, I was anxious to see what this beloved East Coast institution had to offer. The flatscreen menus were minor annoyances, as they were a slideshow gallery, changing every few secs, just when I was almost ready to decide what to get.
My selection - frozen Chips Ahoy coffee Coolatta w/whipped cream Now this hits the spot! With the taste of Chips Ahoy in each sip, the Coolatta was a good size for only being medium. I was recommended the coffee, opposed to vanilla bean option, which was the best choice, naturally. A great frozen treat, I immensely enjoyed chillin (literally & figuratively) with my Chipsy Ahoy Coolatta.
The order/pickup area is kinda drab looking. Some artwork, plants (real or silk) and/or hanging mobiles would help spruce things up, IMHO.
Minimal amount of seating. A few booths overlooking the parking lot, with a few tables inside & al fresco. Most of the space is occupied by the restrooms in the middle of the building.
A busy drive-thru for those not looking to get out of their cars. A miniscule to the point of being cute private lot is available for parking, of which I was fortunate to snag the last spot when I arrived.
Bienvenidos a California, Dunkin Donuts! My free birthday month frozen Chips Ahoy coffee Coolatta was just what the donut doctor ordered on a warm, humid SoCal day. I anxiously await trying your other drink items, such as the Oreo iced coffee or iced green tea. But, what about the donuts, you say? Well, yeah, maybe those, too. I'm not a big donut guy, but I may go for a munchkin.

Read moreDonut was perfectly moist and puffy inside, with a light crisped outside. Coffee was perfectly brewed, not overdone or bitter, ordered with almond milk substituted for regular milk. Long time fan of DD back east, and this was one of the best coffees I have ever gotten from them, in all the years of going there and loving the coffee. Employees were learning new register procedures (visited only four days after opening), but everything was handled without question and with friendly smiles the whole time. By the time I paid they handed me both my drink and donut, didn't even have to go wait at the second pickup counter. Seating inside is very limited (4 tables), but outdoor covered lounge with couches looked really comfy. Drive through was moving quickly, and the parking lot is small. Thanks for coming to Long Beach, Dunkin Donuts, it was well...

Ordered the six dollar combo, the side of hashbrowns was only about five pieces. They were extremely soggy and tasted of old refrigerator and dirty microwave. The bread on the sandwich was cold and not warmed up properly, and the bacon was so hard. It made my teeth hurt. I got my coffee, and they didn't put any sugar. The donut was so small and tasted artificial. There's places down the street that have real quality. And this was such a waste of time and money. This was my first time coming here, and I was in a rush to work, so I didn't have time to go back, but for sure, I won't be back.
My overall impression was employees not properly preparing food and food not properly being stored since the hash browns tasted like refrigerator.
