First time eating here and we had a positive experience. My husband and kid both had the regular katsu curry plates and I had a regular size Loco moco. They ate their whole plates and I only ate half, trying to save room for ice cream at Afters next door. I would say I enjoyed my plate except for the ground beef patties were tough. I wish they were more tender like burger patties at fast food restaurants, but the gravy was better than all of the other local Hawaiian style restaurants around since it tasted real and not from a can or dry mix taste like other places. The macaroni salad was yummy too. Reasonably priced with generous portions, we would definitely come back to try other menu items!

The sauce they have on the counter is a must have, I could drizzle that sauce on anything. Will definitely come back again. Chicken Katsu Curry was okay. The types of musubis are meh, its 50/50, nothing special.

Friendly staff and orange chicken was crispy! Just wish white rice had more flavor, but I still liked it. Fair price for the bowl. Cafe looked clean inside. Thank you!

UPDATE: The owner reached out to me less than an hour after I contacted them, and sincerely apologized for his staff's out-of-line behaviour. I appreciate him taking my concern seriously, and because of his reaction, I have adjusted my review accordingly from 1 to 3 stars.

ORIGINAL REVIEW: Placed an online order at LB Hawaiian BBQ on Saturday night. When I went to to pick up my food, I was horrified. Never ever have I been treated like this in my life at a place of business. The moment I open my mouth, the cashier kid (Chad? Brad? Atlas?) started to MOCK MY VOICE. I am like, what on Earth? What kind of trash service is this? So you have an immigrant AND a person with a disability coming to your store to PICK UP FOOD, and this is the kind of welcome you get? Is it this place's custom to look down on marginalized groups of people when they are just trying to get food and go about their lives.

20-30 mins later, going back to confront this guy, he was very unapologetic and said something ridiculous along the lines of "Bruh, you can talk to my manager", and "Oh, we don't need you as a customer anyway, we've got a plenty of customers." Sure. Didn't see anyone else except staff in there the whole time, though. What a great way to treat people you have first INSULTED on the basis of their origin. I would like to know if the owner for LB Hawaiian BBQ approves of this kind of treatment?

Had I just been treated like a regular human being (shouldn't be too hard, now should it?), I might have considered going back. It was a bit pricey, but their menu had a plenty of items, and the portion size was good. Instead, choose something else in the same shopping center, like Blue Burro or Uncle Fung, and don't even consider this place--unless you want to be treated like a second...

In my past visits to any of the locations, I have been more than satisfied. Today I was shocked enough to actually write a review. I don’t know if gentrification can slowly suck the taste out, but I do know my bbq pineapple chicken meal was helluh dry, not seasoned (unless they thought bbq sauce was enough flavor? 🤦🏾‍♂️) and they didn’t even cut the pineapple, which in retrospect is not that big deal had I not felt like they just slapped it on at the last minute. Like I was supposed to eat this dry, unflavored chicken, cut my own pineapple, and pay for what has always been an ideal meal 😩 should’ve just went to the one...
