Step, step, Cha-Cha-Cha. Eat, drink, Cha for Tea.
It's all about the customization, Mr. Watson. Cha for Tea lets you pick the right amount of sweetness. Have a sweet tooth? Level 4 all the way. Not feeling very sugary? Level 1 is fine enough.
As a tea bar, Cha for Tea offers flavorful teas to drink & loose leaf bagged teas to take home. Samples are available to help you decide just which one is right for you.
Lavender, rosebud & mango green tea, their best seller, were very delicious.
Feeling in need of a health boost, I chose a regular hot ginseng oolong tea (Level 1 sweetness)- Now that hit the spot! Oolong to burn off the fat & ginseng to help my vitality, including special man powers. Watch out, ladies ;p For $3.89, the regular size cup was large & took me awhile to finish. Be forewarned, hot teas are HOT! Hot to the point where I could hardly hold my cup. I wouldn't want to spill that on my pants. Ouch!
Besides tea, Cha for Tea also has various food to eat. I had the chance to sample their most popular food items - crispy chicken & crispy dumplings. Both tasted very good, with dumplings also being available steamed for the more health conscious. Three types of noodle soups & vegetarian entrees round out the menu here.
Service was great. I was kindly offered samples & when I went to fetch my tea, the barista informed me to not hesitate to let her know if my drink was too sweet/not sweet enough. Table seating is available inside & al fresco.
Parking is in a private lot shared by CVS & a closed supermarket. Cha for Tea is located in between zpizza & Wingstop, across the street from CSULB & the VA Hospital.
When in search for a spot of tea & perhaps something to eat, Cha for Tea is a good choice when you're in the area. With many varieties of tasty teas & food that is sure to please, Cha for Tea will have me coming back to try the rest of the menu.

Read moreI love that they have various milk options. I would however say that the default on the peach green tea milk tea was five pumps of sweetener, which was way too much for me personally. Points off for the straw being a paper straw and the lid being like a dixie cup sort of lid and not that satisfying bubble tea portable sealed plastic that you get to satisfyingly stab which I'm sure is a side effect of the weak paper straw. I ordered bubble tea. of course I want to stab something. I'm really disappointed that I don't get to. Also, I kind of wanted to wait out the traffic here. There were two open tables inside but they were both dirty covered in sauce and/or tea. I grabbed some napkins and tried to wipe one of them down but whatever it was was too sticky and half dried on the table and so I couldn't get it clean enough to want to sit there. The upholstery is kind of beat up too so it wasn't looking super inviting. All that said, if I'm headed out of Long Beach on another occasion I'll probably stop here and order with no sweetener, to go, and I actually typically have at least one random boba straw...
Read moreI always get either the Mango Green Tea or Peach Passion Green tea, and the popcorn chicken and it tastes great every single time! The drinks are a bit on the sweeter side for sure so definitely adjust sugar if you don’t like sweet drinks.
The service is always quick, and the team is friendly as well. The only issue I had was the confusion about where you pick up your food.
I heard my name called twice and both times I went immediately to the normal pick up counter, but it wasn’t there. I even asked if it was ready and they said no. I don’t mind waiting at all, but by the third time they called my name, it still wasn’t at the counter and I asked a second time. It was frustrating and confusing to hear “oh yeah they called your name a while ago, you pick it up over there [the register]”, especially when I saw team members personally handing out food orders or other customers picking it up at the normal counter.
The only suggestion I have is to let customers know that after you order food in-store (via a sign or verbally at the register), where you should pick it up, especially if it’s not the...
