Great food and decent beer selection but we will never ever give them another penny after tonight.
Came here for the first time after wanting to try this spot on my birthday back in November. Everything went decent ... then came back tonight for a Chanukah party and a completely different experience.
Walked in at 7:20 and put in an order for a pizza before mingling. Asked the female bartender how long it would take; "20-30 minutes". That came and went, 40 minutes, 50 minutes, an HOUR.
Went to the bar to check...was told another 10 minutes...25 minutes goes by and now the event is almost over and we spent most of it standing around a table waiting.
Go back to the bar again and ask a gentleman working what's what... he hears us out and literally just bounces. The initial bartner shows up and we tell her we have been waiting almost an hour and a half. Her response "really? an hour and a half?". Us "oh sorry, 1 hour and 22 minutes to be exact".
She says nothing and goes back to serving the customers on the line - which is understandable. Another bartender shows up yet again and asks us what's going on, we tell him, and he asks us to move to her line...Not happening since we are on the line we were on when we ordered. The initial, female bartender just says "yeah that's the manager, HE'LL DEAL WITH YOU!"
Finally, the first dude shows up who asks us AGAIN what's what. We explain. It's now almost 9 so an hour and 40 minutes have gone by... ZERO "we're sorry" ZERO "it's coming out - sorry it took so long" ZERO "we apologize, we've been slammed". What does he do? Nothing but press some buttons, I look down and it says "xx.xx amount has been refunded to your card"...
We literally came here hungry specifically to get a pizza and mingle with local friends...instead we got no food, no apologies and a snarky attitude without even as much as a "here's a beer for us wasting your time".
Not to be that guy but I've eaten all over the world including restaurants and countries that leave much to be desired in ways of service and yet, here, in our hometown we have had THE WORST service imaginable.
Could not be more...
Read moreWhat an experience. Stay away from Ellen the server. She literally tells us to move from the table to have some other people sit when it’s self seating restaurant in the patio. She says because you didn’t pay for your order yet, you can’t sit in a self seating outside patio. Shocking service. We are a family of 12 taking the left side of the patio on two tables holding 6 and 4 respectively. And she gives it to 4 people and tells us that I can separate you all over the place. Like she is doing us a favor. Just wow.
Update to owners response bellow:
This had nothing to do with the Covid 19 pandemic rules. We were using 2 tables that were close to each other just like any other customer would Be sitting there, (we didn’t move the tables) and we were simply removed from one table because we were told we have not yet paid for our orders yet when there is a sign that says “please seat yourself”. You should either put out sign stating not to seat, till you place an order, instead of having a sign that says “please seat yourself” or have someone by the door helping your customers before they come into the patio.
I appreciate your response to me here, however I do not appreciate you bashing me on FaceBook. I find it sad that you could not reach out directly to me to make things better by simply apologizing to my family and I for what happened. As a business owner, you should educate your staff in handling situations like this, and if they don’t know what to do, simply reach out to you before we leave. We told your manager what’s happening and he didn’t do anything, when he should have called you perhaps so you can tell him what to do. I had 4 crying hungry children waiting to eat with zero service. Furthermore, the worst part was that we did in fact drive all the way from Los Angeles, just to try...
Read moreIt was just another lazy summer Sunday when we decided to give this new brewery a try. This place was not only known for their beers, but also for their bread. Made by a classical trained pastry chief, we definitely had to try a few of their creations.
The place is nested in the wrigs part of Long Beach, not hidden but one can definitely pass it by without noticing it. It's street parking with lots of over flow in the back of the building. although I'm not sure if that was their official back lot. Nonetheless, we used it from 7-10pm with no problem. Walked in... it seemed like a full house. a few bar seats available, no tables big enough for our party of 4. Bartender took our orders within a few minutes of us looking at the menu displayed above the bar. we did look new, but he was more than happy to answer questions and hand out samples before we have to commit to a full glass.
Together our order included a wide selection of their beer and food offerings (Sours, IPAs, stouts paired with a pizza, calzones and a few sandwiches). We wanted to try everything!! After our orders he gave us our beers, a number and pointed out there's additional seats upstairs!! We picked up some board games and headed up. There was a giant communal table, great for private parties or just meeting new people. The view was great (I included a pic).
We came for the beer and food and let me tell you... We were not disappointes!! Beers, all of them was on point... The bread for each of our food selection was great! Everything was cooked perfectly crispy with an almost airy inside, perfectly pairing with beer. All my friends and I enjoyed our time there, we will definitely come back! Definitely will be one of my to go's after a long day...
