Beware of misrepresentation of food menu items and price gouging. Went there with 5 of my local lady friends proudly wearing my black Amy’s “Hangry” novelty tee I previously purchased there during one of our many dining experiences eating there. We had always had a positive experience at Amy’s; however today was disappointing and very disheartening. I ordered a small combo breakfast entree and side item of Fruit and Yogurt listed as a Side item on their menu for $1.99. I purposely pointed out the item on the menu and verbalized it to our waiter, Beckit. I confirmed the menu prices the side item at the time of my order with Beckit. The menu stated 1.99 for the side and when my bill came to pay I was charged $7.95. When I questioned Beckit he told me he was unable to adjust due to computer software that would not allow him to make adjustment and all items are preprogrammed on their computer. The place was very crowded and I politely and respectfully removed myself and went to the entrance to Speak with the Assistant General Manager on duty working the cash register. I politely discussed the discrepancy being overcharged prior to me paying my bill. The AGM asserted that the side item listed was for other entrees and not breakfast entrees. She asserted I was given a meal portion of Fruit and Yogurt and was charged appropriately. However, she was unable to show me this item/charge on their multi page menu.. I politely asked her to show me the item on the menu I was being charged. She stated that it is impossible to list all their items available on their menus. I politely paid for my bill and casually mentioned that I felt it was a misrepresentation item on their menu and the waiter knew in advance taking my order exactly what Fruit and Yogurt side I was requesting . I returned back to the dining area after paying my bill to meet up with my lady friends. Unknowingly the AGM followed me to my table and became very confrontational, combative and started To share our discussion with my lady friends who were not involved. One of My lady friends politely told her during her enrage episode to please not to get them Involved and this issue was between her and I and not them. At this time there was an audience of customers focused at our table due to the volatile behavior of AGM. I told here she was making scene and being very confrontational with me. We had already discussed our issue in private at the entrance. She told me to leave immediately and never come back again. I immediately left feeling embarrassed and confused with aggressive behavior. She followed me out the door continuing to yell at me. I will never go back again and refuse to continue advertising your business by wearing the Amy’s novelty tee shirt I previously purchased. I truly feel that AGM could had made amends and avoided this unpleasant scene by making the adjustment on the side item for the misunderstanding OR been more professional and courteous by allowing me to leave appropriately after paying my tab when I approached her privately at the register in the entrance way. Read moreI normally love Amy's Diner so it was hard for me to write such a bad review and before doing so i tried to tell myself maybe it was due to Covid and the inconvenience of dining outside and what measures they must have to take to accommodate everyone and not everyone can be pleased but today my breakfast experience was wrong in every way. First things seem to be well and then we ordered, shortly after that we received our coffee, no creamer, no sugar, so i asked for more for the two of us and when the waitress returned she gave us 3 packs of additional sugar, so i was like ok whatever not exactly gonna be enough for both our coffees and by the way we were never asked if we wanted water or anything additional to drink...Ok so we moved on...Then the food came in plastic containers, (everything was either in plastic, Styrofoam or disposable, which was very good for germs and Covid but terrible to eat out of or for the environment ...Now the real issue, I ordered two eggs over medium, white toast, breakfast potatoes and sausage, i got two eggs over medium with white toast, one sausage, 7 pieces of bacon and breakfast potatoes smothered in cheese, peppers and onions, when i told the waitress that wasn't what i ordered, she looked at me like a deer in head lights. my friend who was with me didn't want to make it an issue so unhappily i took the food because i didn't want to wait for a whole entire other meal to be made. Now the quality of the food. It was like eating a pre-made microwave meal, the food was not even warm and the sausages were not cooked all the way through for both of us, so not even did i get the wrong food it was not even cooked all the way or heated and honestly just tasted terrible. So we packed up, paid the bill and left. Yes i could've complained, yes i could've sent it back but honestly it was so bad i just wanted to leave. I won't be going back to Amy's for quite a while, the server barely helped us or cared about what was going on even when i said or showed i was not happy and the food was terrible. I just hope this was just an isolated incident because frankly it was a waste of fifty dollars...sad...
Read moreWent here today for something different. I had the chicken parm with pasta $13.99. The sauce was really good on the pasta as that tasted like homemade. With that being said, it would have been nice to be told that there was no cheese available for topping. The chicken came out it was hard to cut and was dry and hard. I asked for a metal fork and was told I could not get one. So now I struggle with cutting it with a plastic knife.
My companion had the chicken wrap $13.99 and asked the waitress if we can substitute a side salad for one of the sides offered and she said yes.
We get the bill, $13.99 , $14.50, 2.99, $2.99 I asked why all these charges because drinks and sides are part of the $13.99 and the $14.50 should have been $13.99.
WE WERE NOT TOLD THAT THE SIDE SALAD WOULD BE AN UPCHARGE the $2.99 drinks were an oversight and was taken off.
Bottom line: they won’t tell you everything. You have to know to ask about extra charges and if the chicken is real...
