All of my experiences with Aunt Alice's Kitchen have been through DoorDash. That said, I have tried many things on the menu and found them all mostly good. The Cinnamon Rolls are massive, fresh, and taste fine, but not the best I've had. The fried catfish (pictured) is pretty tasty. The House Burger (pictured) was pretty good, as was the Hamburger Deluxe.

On the breakfast front, Aunt Alice's Kitchen makes MASSIVE pancakes that are pretty darn tasty. The sausage patties are huge and tasty, and are clearly hand made, not pre-packaged. The home fries were pretty good. The grits needed salt and butter, but I easily added those. Eggs are fine and the toast is fine. So all in all, the most of the foods I've eaten here are pretty good.

My one complaint is that the menu is vague in places. For example, when ordering catfish, you get a choice of "vegetable, rice, or potato." There's no specification on the vegetable (it is always peas and carrots so far). "Potato" could mean boiled, mashed, baked, fried, or french fries. (It is crinkle cut french fries.) When I see "rice", I think steamed or boiled white rice, more so since there's a separate Mexican rice entry. But nope, "rice" means "seasoned rice", which is the one food item I didn't like. Home fries (diced, fried potatoes for breakfast) came with a surprising topping of grilled peppers and onions. The menus should come out and say exactly what one is going to get, not leave things as generic entries.

Still, I've ordered from here several times as I do appreciate the more home-style cooking. Fix the menu issues and I'd have no...

We usually come here about every 2weeks. staff friendly and delicious food we always recommend this place to family and friends. Except Today we had a bad experience, I ordered the south of the border skillet , consist of a layer of home fries topped with chorizo and green chili and eggs. The home fries were mostly burned. When the waiter came to ask if everything was ok ? I told her about the burn skillet, her reply was ‘’ do you want me to bring you a side of home fries?” ( Really ??? I thought to my self, the home fries are the bottom layer , so what about everything else ?).then she said after she saw my upset face , “or DO YOU want me to replace it ?” I was already very upset , this should’ve been her first reaction I believe, maybe to say “sorry and I WILL replace it for you “. I ate what I could of the burn skillet. Then she comes and tells us she deducted the home fries from check. (Wow almost $2 dollars). When we paid we shared our experience with the elderly women, and once again not expecting what she replied “well she offer to bring a side of home fries , or she could of replace it” . We never got a sorry for the bad experience from either of them. And this time we didn’t felt like they cared. I understand everywhere incidents happen, but This is not about burned food or money, it about taking care of the customers. Hope you you don’t go through this. For us not sure if will be back. My wife & I have been to Aunt Alice's twice now. It's conveniently located just a few minutes from our house. Unfortunately, that is really the only good quality about this restaurant. All in all, their food is good but that doesn't make up for the service.

Last Sunday, October 27th, we decided to give Aunt Alice's another try. It was a snow day, so the wait for a table was about 15-30 minutes. That wasn't a big deal except there was nowhere to sit and it was about 35° outside. After the host sat us, we asked for water which didn't get to us until we asked two more times and half way through our meal. Our server was nice but was distracted the entire time but two tables. Both were 4-tops. When we had a question, we made eye contact and mouthed, "Quick question". She made contract with those two tables 5 more times before signing by our table. When she cleared our plates, she said she'd be right back with the check. Almost 15 minutes went by and she checked in all of her section multiple times and never came back. We took the check up front to pay. (I'm a former restaurant manager and server/bartender of 10+ years and this was unacceptable).

All of that sounds petty and trivial but when you add it all together- the service was exceptionally slow. To get three entrees and 2 coffees it took over two hours. Hopefully this message is noted. We were a 3-top at the South-ear section of the restaurant on...

$3.96 for this TINY fountain drink. I am honestly appalled. As a doordasher that frequents this location to pick up orders, and was working (picking up an order) when I purchased this overpriced drink- I will never be giving these crooks a dime of my money again. I’d hate to see what they charge for food, if they charge $4 for a TINY fountain drink like this. Absolutely ABSURD. Most businesses I pick up orders from are more than happy to provide dashers with a free small drink- although I was not expecting or requesting this, but $4?!?!?! You’re out of your mind. Never again will I give this business a dime of my money. This is disgusting. Could go next door to STARBUCKS and get a better deal on a simple drink than I did at this place. This appears to be not a business that is in touch with the community/operating ETHICALLY, as they are charging absolutely absurd prices for a simple FOUNTAIN drink. The other low-rating comments absolutely back me up on this. Shame on this “business”, but maybe rather these CROOKS. No wonder they can’t keep staff, I’m honestly surprised they keep any business running the show like this.

This is one of our go-to dinner spot for work dinners as we work rotating shifts. They have been amazing and I've been coming here since I was little kid which I am now 47. Portions are excellent for the price and the staff has always been friendly, caring and prompt. Attached is a picture of our latest work dinner, their chicken, bacon, avocado wrap is amazing and big portions as you can see in pic. It is one of my favorites. Favorite breakfast here for me is chicken, fried steak and eggs. I have yet to have a bad meal here. When I was a kid growing up, their liver and onions was my Grandpa's favorite. I was not a huge fan of liver and onions but I have to say and Aunt Alice's was one of the best I've ever had other than when my grandma would make it as a sandwich when I'd visit. Makes me so happy every time I order here knowing that one of the oldest establishments in Longmont is still in business.
