Good food… Seems fresh. They actually have barbecue pork which is hard to find in The Boulder area. I love bbq fried rice and that dish is on point, good job folks! Be Aware that most of their stuff is very spicy, (we ordered sesame chick and was wasaaaauy spicy!!) ..so you need to tell them , if you do not like spicey food to relax on the spice level. Also if you’re a dumpling fan, I would skip it. Worst dumpling I’ve ever had… Seriously taste like a dough ball I don’t know what the hell they did with the chicken? Is that chicken , is that pork? The sautéed baby bok choy was also fantastic. Like all Chinese restaurants in this area you have to pick and choose the dishes you like. Sometimes it’s a hit sometimes it’s a miss ? But I will say this place seems pretty consistent. Sorry about the three star review, but man , those dumplings were just sooooo bad! I will definitely be back! Oh and by the way this place is not related to the China gourmet in Boulder… Even though the place in Boulder says it is. Get your act together , sheesh. Picture is of the dumpling… The big fat not tasty dough ball ..

I am from New Jersey and was here in Colorado for business and me and my girlfriend decided to come to this establishment for dinner. Biggest mistake of Our Lives and we should have read deeper into the reviews. Ordered our food at the counter and literally soon as we were given the receipt and sat down our food had arrived which was very odd. I had ordered egg drop soup which was very Bland and cold. We also ordered fried rice which was shameful and was not fresh because you could tell that the peas and carrots in it were very old and lastly the Sesame chicken which was cold, the meat looked Gray and we just knew it was not fresh. Also how do you make sesame chicken in a matter of 1 minute which tells us that this was either old and reheated or refried. This was the worst experience and a waste of $50 and I would not recommend anyone to ever come here because they do not care about what they give the consumer and again the food is not fresh at all. They are going to make people sick if they are not already.

I've been there a few times. Food is of excellent quality. You order and pay at the counter and they bring the food to the table. The place is roomy and classy! IMHO this place now has the best Chinese food in Longmont! Their Singapore noodles is amazing -- with generous portions of large shrimp, pork, chicken and veggies. Their General Tso's Chicken and Mongolian Beef too are delicious, fresh and quite unique. Their ingredients are definitely fresh. I found the General Tso's sauce to be authentic yet unique -- meaning they aren't using your conventional sugar sauce. You can really taste the fresh ginger and tomato base along with the sweetness. I highly recommend this place!

Went here to celebrate a birthday and have a meal. Don't know if it was a bad day for them, or something happened to this spot like chef turn over, but China Gourmet used to be our go to spot for special occasions, and the first place I would have normally recommend to others looking for Chinese restaurant with "traditional" offerings on the menu in the Longmont area. But today most of the food was inedible! Only one dish turned out okay otherwise everything else had either way too much pepper or too much salt.

The West Lake beef soup here in the past had always been delightful and my absolute favorite thing on the menu, so of course I had to order it. But to my utter dismay, this time it had a massive amount of white pepper in it that it rendered the soup inedible, as it was all you can taste, and I had to use water to dilute it to try to get some of it down. The hot and sour soup used to be good too, my second favorite soup here, but had way too much pepper as well. Not balanced like it used to.

Lost my appetite, but I tried some of the spicy lamb lunch entree. It was way too salty and I had to eat it with rice to try to even it out.

I also tried the spicy beef tendon and it taste different and definitely not as good as before.

It was disappointing because once your tongue has had some tasty food at a restaurant, that is what you expect each and every time you visit. I did not enjoy the food at all today and would no longer would recommend this...

The good: the food was pretty typical tasting Chinese food which is my favorite cuisine so of course I thought it was pretty good and it was prepared quickly. The bad: i would tip after the meal instead of before like I did and it wasnt a cheap tip. the service was the worst I can remember having. I typically dont like giving poor reviews because I like supporting growing businesses but this place warranted a poor review. The kid who took our order acted as if we were a burden to him and was rushing us through and it wasn't late and there was no one in line behind us. In fact the restaurant had only 3 parties in it so not busy at all. The portions are on the small side compared to most Chinese restaurants we've gone to and for the price. None of our 5 drinks got refilled and my wife went up for a refill and the two guys there actually had to scoot AROUND her to ignore her request for a drink and when I went up to the counter to do the wait staffs job I was ignored until I asked for a refill and was told to wait even though the employee I asked stood no more than 2 feet away from the fountain machine. Again I say, it was not busy at all which I would have been sympathetic towards. Just an overall bad experience but take your chances if you want. Maybe they were just having a bad night as most reviews are positive. I know we won't go here...

China Gourmet is one of those spots in Longmont that feels like a hidden gem. Every time I’ve visited, the food has been absolutely delicious — fresh, flavorful, and prepared with care. The menu offers a wide variety of options, from classic favorites like sweet and sour chicken and Mongolian beef to house specialties that you won’t find just anywhere. The portions are generous, making it great for sharing or taking some home to enjoy later. One of the things I appreciate most about China Gourmet is the consistency. Every dish I’ve tried has been spot-on, and you can tell they put pride into their cooking. It’s not just tasty food; it’s comfort food that keeps you coming back. The service here is also really good. The staff is friendly, attentive, and makes sure you’re taken care of without hovering. They’re quick to take orders, refill drinks, and check in at the right times. It makes the dining experience smooth and enjoyable. Another highlight is the atmosphere. China Gourmet is fairly quiet, which is rare to find these days. It’s a nice change of pace when you want to relax, enjoy a meal, and actually have a conversation without shouting over noise. Overall, China Gourmet is a reliable, delicious, and peaceful place to eat in Longmont. Highly recommend if you’re craving Chinese...
