So I really enjoyed the menu and food here previously to my last experience. I went in last Saturday morning and ordered a breakfast burrito 🌯 with eggs, beans and cheese. The owner, who took my order asked what kind of meat I would like and gave me the options. I replied, no meat please. Any bacon 🥓 , no thank you. Just eggs, beans and cheese. Would you like potatoes 🥔? No, no potatoes. One burrito 🌯 or two burritos 🌯 🌯 ? Just one, thank you. Then I waited for order and then when it was ready it was handed to me by a very friendly employee. Then I left and walked to a park omw home 🏡. To stop and eat my breakfast. After the first bite, I realized it had potatoes 🥔. So I opened it up and noticed it consisted beans, potatoes, no cheese and very minimal egg. But I said to myself mistakes happen so, I'll just be happy with what I got. Then after two or three bites more 🤔 I discovered I was chewing on very small pieces of egg shells and was very disappointed 😞 😑 😐. I put the remaining portion of my food and walked backed molcajete's to let them know what had happened. I was told by the owner that I never ordered eggs and was shown my ticket. He pointed and said " see, beans and potatoes 🥔" and then smiled and said "no eggs"... I explained again that would have been fine, mistakes happen but there where egg shells in it. Then he laughed and sorry my friend but it didn't have any egg shells and replied the had eaten half of the burrito... but, it's ok we make you another one... while shaking his head. FYI, This was the worst cotumer service experience I have ever had!!!!!!!!!!!!! and by the way I didn't wait for my burrito and left, never...
Read moreWaited 20 minutes for 3 burritos ($25 w/ tip) which is crazy. I ordered one smothered chorizo burrito and the young girl at the counter immediately said “okay so you want one chorizo breakfast burrito smothered?” so I had to repeat myself and say “No, one regular smothered burrito with chorizo as the meat”. Then I ordered 1 ham & cheese breakfast burrito and 1 chorizo breakfast burrito. She repeated my full order to me correctly and I paid (side annoyance, the POS system is in Spanish so I’m like how do I put in my own tip???). I got home and I received a smothered chorizo breakfast burrito and a regular chorizo burrito 🤦♂️. The regular chorizo burrito had rice in it and was dry so I didn’t eat it. Normally there is a language barrier here so I give them some grace but this cashier spoke perfect english. This is why Danny’s Tacos on Hover and 17th gets my money (closed today though only on Sundays) and their ticket time on burritos is no joke under 5 minutes. Better and bigger chorizo breakfast burrito too (and cheaper). Do yourself a favor and skip Tacos Al Molcajete - literally dozens of other Mexican places in Longmont with better service and ticket time. P.S. everything is spicy so don’t even go there if you...
Read moreMy wife and I ate lunch at Tacos Al Molcajete on Saturday 10/29/22 and it was delicious. It’s always delicious! This is our favorite restaurant for Mexican food. We eat here often and have always had a great experience and even better food.
I had tacos and my wife had a burrito, both were excellent. My tacos were 3 “street” style tacos with lengua. My personal favorite but there are numerous other meats to choose from. In addition, to the tacos and burrito, we got 6 tamales to go.
The tamales, oh my gosh the tamales!!! These are the best ever! No skimping on meat here. They are just the right combination of corn and meat. The owner said his wife makes the tamales from fresh ingredients and it shows. These tamales are next level good!
The Menudo is excellent as well! It’s great for the cool mornings these days. Let’s not forget the Horchata…the absolute best ever! It’s the perfect combination of all the ingredients, just so refreshing!
Do yourself a favor and stop in for some great Mexican food. There is plenty of parking and you can choose to eat inside, outside, or get it to go. We love to eat outside. Finally, the staff are super nice and always seem glad to see you. Give it a try you won’t be...
