The owner has a serious ego issue. To the point he trolls review websites of his competition. I don't plan on paying his "restaurant" a visit anytime soon.
Update 3/2/2019
It seems that I was pretty much correct about the owner of this "restaurant" One would think that in the span of 4 years the ego maniac that runs this business would appreciate the reviews that they get and try to enhance their business appropriately but nah. Instead of trying to understand why people feel the way that they feel about said business he instead plays the victim routine while simultaneously berating and being generally toxic towards everyone. This owner was toxic towards me when he was based in the Three Rivers Mall, he was toxic at my honest review of his business at its current location.
I'd award this business zero stars just based on previous experience but Google requires there to be a rating. My advice to anyone who hasn't gone to this business, skip it. The owner has a god complex that requires his ego to be stroked. I suggest trying any of the numerous other restaurants on Commerce, you'll get your money's worth and you won't be degraded by an owner who has the inferiority complex of a grade schooler who has issues with being told no that they can't be a bully.
Update 1/31/2024
Well, it's been nearly five years since I left my original review and it pretty much remains the same. It's sad to see that a "reputable business owner" (I use quotations because to call the owner of this business reputable would be a disservice) Has learned nothing, the owner of this business continues to play the victim card at every chance given.
His argument with me is that basically I was in the wrong for critiquing him because his first failure was based at the mall. To which I say, it doesn't make a difference, once a failure, always a failure. Just because you closed shop in the mall and open elsewhere, it doesn't give you a clean slate. You were rude at the Three Rivers Mall, you are still rude now. The customers you do manage to guilt into patronizing you, deserve better. That's not ego talking, that's not pride speaking, that's the simple truth.
Do not do business with this guy, he is rude, he is petty and he is cowardly. Giving away free food isn't going to win back the customers you chased off with your piss poor attitude. Maybe in another 5-10 years the owner will learn humility and apologize, but it'll be a day late and a dollar short. He does not deserve another cent from this community. I would rather eat a McDonalds then give this guy any of my hard earned money.
Word of advice, when a potential customer comes to you (the owner) and wants to buy a gyro for their mother, it's best to not treat that customer like garbage because they ask a simple question.
You should be ashamed...
Read moreI have been coming to Gyros Gyros for several years. We started going when they were located in the Three Rivers Mall. They were amazing at that time and happy to sell you lamb, sauce, pita bread etc. The customer service was also very welcoming. Since that time they have moved to the basement of the Bowers Building and the service has become horrific. Our latest experience was just this week. My daughter was out of town and we adore Greek cuisine and even though our last experience there was not good we thought we would give it a second chance and see if the service had improved. WE WERE WRONG!!! The moment we were greeted at the door by the owner we asked if we could see a menu. Our intentions were to pick something up from them and go for a pick-nick. (Time alone without my daughter is hard to come by) We noticed that there was only on other table in the entire establishment that has customers but he told us in a very abrupt voice that unless we planned on dining in that he was not going to place a to go order for us. I was stunned! In this economy you would think that any sort of business would be appreciated but not with this business owner. He then proceeded to tell us that if we wanted to order something to go that we could come back during the day and walked away from us. This was a huge turn off for my boyfriend and I. I work in the customer service industry and I would never treat someone like we were treated. It makes you wonder if he is content with the whopping business and revenue he must be getting from the one table that was occupied when we walked in. Kudos to you and your business. I'm happy spending my hard earned money in a happy wonderful establishment that will appreciate me instead of being treated like garbage that just walked in off the street. So much for recommending people to your restaurant....
Read moreGreat food, great environment, great service, great experience! My husband and I heard the food here was really good, so we decided to finally try it for dinner tonight. I ended up getting off work late and rushed to get there before they closed, with 4 minutes to spare I walked in the door and received a warm welcome. Having worked in the restaurant industry, I was worried they would be upset I came in right before closing, but instead the owner apologized right away that "all he could do was take a to go order", which was what I wanted anyway. That alone was a great first impression, he then helped me with the menu and gave me some great recommendations. He makes his own soda and tea, so we tried the BlackBerry soda. He also told me that the baklava was fresh out of the oven, so I ordered one of those (so good!). I had ordered one of the other flavors of soda too but he didnt realize he was out, so he threw in an extra baklava for me. His soda was refreshing and the perfect amount of sweetness. Also, for those of you who are environmentally conscious, the to-go cups are 100% certified compostable! My husband and I both took our first bite of our gyros and immediately just went, mmmmmm. It was SO good! I highly recommend this place, between the memorable customer service and amazing food you will not be disappointed with, it has become one of my new favorite places to eat....
