I'm absolutely appalled at how inappropriate the manager or store owner was today. I commented on the policy of only being able to try on five things and only being able to go in once a day in the dressing room. I shared my opinion with an employee and I told her I know she has no say in it. I certainly was not taking it out on her at all.
I went through the clothes in my cart and got rid of some because of the 5 limit. The employee told me I could try on things at the mirror out in the middle of the store, so I did that for a few things, then tried on my final selection in the dressing room. Unfortunately none of them fit me well except for one shirt.
When I went up to pay at the register, the manager or store owner said to me, "What, out of all of those shirts, did none of them work for you?" I told her of the five I tried on they didn't work out except one shirt and I wasn't going to buy anything I can't try on since there's a no return policy. Then she got very rude and inappropriate I still am so shocked by what she said. It actually made me cry after I left.
She said something to the effect that, you can't afford to buy the clothes without trying them on and donating that money to a non profit? With the worst attitude. I told her I'm not going to buy something that I can't try on without a return policy. She said "you don't have money to do that?" I told her no and then she said, "do you want me to give you money," with total condescending sarcasm, and I told her that I didn't appreciate her being rude to me. She then said that she didn't appreciate me being rude to her employee. The thing was, I was sharing my opinion of my frustration and was not taking it out on her employee AT ALL. If the employee thought I was, I truly apologize because that was definitely not my intent.
From today forward, I will no longer be donating to the Red Hat. I have given them so much throughout the years and this has cost them a customer. A manager is supposed to be professional, now I can see why that previously customer review said the manager was abusive. I would be surprised if they weren't talking about the...
Read moreI’m so sad to see some of the previous reviews from others because that has not been my experience here. This store sells a lot of middle to higher end items, often times that means you are going to see prices that reflect that. Staff has always been super helpful. I have been coming here for over a decade and have never had an issue. Touching on prices again, if I find a jacket that retails for over $200, and I can buy it there for $50 in new condition, yes please. Their mission and purpose is supporting DV survivors, it’s a win for everyone shopping here! I’ll leave with this, remember when reading comments from upset patrons, there is always another side to that story. As someone who works with the public myself, often times people unleash on us and are then surprised and angry when they are asked to leave, immediately taking to social media to try to tarnish another’s reputation and gain some sympathy and support from those reading their comments. There is less tolerance for customers being inappropriate towards staff these days now more than ever before. So just remember, there are ALWAYS two sides to a story. Don’t discount a business because a few people got called out and they didn’t like it. Make your own judgement call after visiting for yourself. If not, then more good deals for the...
Read moreMost donated items they promptly throw away...witness it daily. Then they yell at the homeless people when they try to remove items they put in the trash can. THEY desperately need the items , why deny them a coat, sweater or blanket to stay warm??? THEY ARE A FOR PROFIT STORE, THEY MAKE LOTS OF MONEY FROM DONATED ITEMS!!!!THE MONEY THEY CLAIM TO DONATE IS NOT EVEN 1% OF THEIR DAILY PROFIT! The way I was treated as a customer was unacceptable!.When I shop thrift stores for clothes, I load up my cart then select those items by trying them on. I do this because there are no duplicate items like at a normal clothing store. Any items I decide to not buy I always put them back in their designated area. When selecting items to try on, I was approached and told there is a 10 item limit at a time. I thought they were talking about dressing room items. Anyway later a lady who appeared to have seniority came up to me saying 10 item limit in a cart. I thought that was strange. Anyway I say ok and decide to exchange a item for something I liked better....then this employee rudely grabbed my cart and jerked my cart away from me saying NO MORE, i said 10 item limit u r going to dressing room NOW....
