What a sweet spot! My husband took me out for a pre-birthday date day, we decided on a walk down Commerce and decided to pop in! The whole place is a delight! From the friendly greeting as soon as you enter, to the warm smell of fresh baked treats. The decor was so fun! Old book pages for wallpapers!?! Are you kidding me! Cute mismatched china and colorful furnishings! They had a wonderful assortment of books, including some literary classics like Lord of the Rings, in box set, with a beautiful painting of a hobbit hole 😍 All this and I haven’t even started on the treats. We treated ourselves to THE BEST SEAFOAM!! Seriously. That we’ve ever had and a warm fresh from the oven pastry with sweet cream and fresh berries!! To die for and purchased some delicious coconut sugar chocolates for later💕 Please do go enjoy a moment here, you won’t be disappointed!

Unfortunately, in our modern society, the small unique artisanal shop is no longer the norm. This place is a gem. One day this place may grow out of it’s own charm, it’s so good that may be inevitable. But today, it’s small, you can chat with the owner who is excited about his store and product, and it is real, genuine, so unlike the big box homogenized everything we get everywhere in every city. Everything is tasty, quality, fun, there are some very unique products, like the storybook chocolate packaging. This is stuff you won’t get on Amazon or Costco. Enjoy your community, enjoy quality, enjoy real life. Credit where credit is due; I may not agree with his politics which unfortunately are on display, but that has nothing to do with his success in the unique chocolate experience they have created.

A new favorite! 😍 A whimsical dream of sugar and imagination. The experience is that of a cherished story or French independent film. The delightful pastries and sweets, the new owner is extraordinary, the precious staff, (friendly but not pushy, helpful but not overly opinionated - they are as balanced as their delectable dishes) the decor and the ambiance all beg for you stay and linger. I can imagine losing track of the day whilst exploring the nooks and crannies of their bookshelves lined with classics while enjoying a caramel macchiato with their crafted caramel.

I found this place today as I was looking to get some lunch. I passed by and thought I should check it out. I love books and I enjoy a treat now and again. Circled the block, stopped in and was blown away.

They make their own chocolate and do pastries on the weekends. There are hundreds of classic books on the shelves for sale, as well as some albums (vinyl) for sale. Some very comfy and unique furnishings and decorations set the tone for a comfortable and laid back atmosphere.

Eric, one of the proprietors I believe, explained to me the process they use to get the chocolate created and showed me the large jar of cocoa beans they use. He was super awesome and clearly knowledgeable about his craft, he definitely has a passion for it and lots of artistic talent, as you will notice by the hand crafted forms they use for their chocolates. Really nice guy as well.

Looked up at the menu and holy smoke, they got coffee too! I think I found heaven on earth. Coffee, chocolate and books? Does it really get any better? Unfortunately I couldn't get decaf today because their machine wasn't working, but hopefully will be available next time. I did get a hot cocoa and it was amazing. I will be trying the white chocolate hot cocoa the next time I go.

Like I told them today, I think I may go broke at this place because I enjoy it so much. \0/

A wonderful place to go for quick treat, or a comfy chair and a slow afternoon sipping coffee enjoying artisanal deserts. The atmosphere is as whimsical as their literary themed treats; it's easy to get lost in a book and forget you are in Cowlitz County altogether. The staff is warm, welcoming, and full of the same joy that seems to swirl around the shop from every nook and cranny. Don't be fooled by the meticulously arranged decor- usually this would spell disaster for people with young children. On the contrary; this shop welcomes kids to come and enjoy- with a small table and chairs, along with an assorted bin of toys- kids can find something to work on allowing parents a few minutes to unwind with their beverage of choice (they serve wine). Didn't bring a book? No problem- borrow one from the shelf- love the book? They are for sale and can be had for less than you might think given their vintage covers and specialty feel. So come check them out! Shops like this seem to foreshadow a new downtown for Longview; one that creates a sense of pride in your community. I hope to see more like this spring up bringing a much needed liveliness to...

Will not be back or recommend this place. Bought 2 chocolate covered marshmallow on graham cracker crust at $6.50 each. Absolutely inedible. The "marshmallow" was more like a stale gummy bear. Not fluffy or soft at all. like rubber. The crust tasted like a ginger bread cookie, not the graham cracker crust and homemade marshmallow as described. I tasted it as did my husband and had to throw it as well as the other one away. When I called to tell them, I was told, "I'll cut into one here and if they are bad we will pull them". That was it. No offer to replace or refund my money. I understand baking can have mishaps but the total lack of customer service is sad. Too bad, they could have made it right and had a loyal customer. *Updat- after posting this review I received a phone call with them saying that yes indeed something had gone wrong with the batch and they were bad. That they were refunding the cost of those, so that's...
