Moreno's Mexican Food — Restaurant in Longview

This place has potential, but needs some work. The staff was very kind and brought our food out to us and the place was clean. We got the adobada street tacos, carne asada street tacos, rolled tacos with beef, tots with sour cream, tots with nacho cheese, nacho fries, and flan. The street tacos were good, but needed just a bit more salt to really get them to where they needed to be. The rolled tacos were just okay. The cook on them was perfect, but the meat inside them was pretty fatty and the sour cream on top tasted like water. I usually eat sour cream by the buckets full, but I really didn’t like what they used. Though, they gave really large portions of sour cream, which would have been great it if it tasted good. The fries definitely needed to be cooked longer and the meat needed more seasoning, but there were a lot of toppings, which we liked. The tots were very good. They were fried well and were soft on the inside. I’d definitely go back for those. The nacho cheese just tastes like store bought stuff from a can. The caramel on the flan was 10/10. One of the best I’ve ever had. However, I didn’t like that part of the flan was creamy and part of it was eggy/cakey. The people was with said it was the best flan they’d ever had, and one of them is obsessed with flan. I wouldn’t say I’ll never come here again, but it will definitely not be a top choice. I didn’t have cash so I couldn’t leave a tip to which I really wish I could. Everything was excellent. Halfway through lunch my kid had to use the bathroom. It was just her and I dining in at the moment. People were coming in and out to get food, but I had nobody to keep an eye on her. I went and told staff that my 7 year old would be at the table myself and that I was just leaving her. I hurried to the bathroom and back out so as not to leave my kid for too long unattended. That nice lady behind the counter waited at the counter where she could see my table and watched my kid the entire time I was gone. That just blew me away and melted my heart. When my child and I were leaving I went back to the counter and got a different lady. I told her thank you for everything and I apologized again for not having a tip. She said not to worry about that and when I asked if she had cash app or venmo she replied “we’re all mothers here so we get it, it really was no problem”. How awesome of them to look out for a customer like that. And the food was great, the service was fast. I wasn’t expensive to dine there. I’ll just bring cash next time for a tip. I truly recommend this place...

This place is great! I have a really hard time trying new places but my wife recommended this place so we tried it tonight and it did not disappoint! I immediately was very pleased to see how wide and open they have managed to make the seating area compared to the restaurant that used to be here and the decorations are great. I ordered the steak and shrimp combination burrito with no sour cream and it was really good however it is definitely a little on the saucy side, there’s nothing wrong with this but just something to note. I ordered the combo and I am just now realizing I did get my drink but I did not get my chips and salsa that came with my meal. I also ordered the 3 rolled chicken tacos with guacamole and they were really good but slightly crispy and I did have to spit some of the last pieces into my napkin. My wife ordered the chicken quesadilla and they actually gave her this chicken quesadilla/burrito mix thing but she liked it anyways and was happy with the taste and size of her meal. We will definitely be back though as long as we make sure to double check they gave us what we actually ordered and everything...
