Read moreHas to be the worst ending to a night in my life. I guess I was too old and too black to be in this bar. My night started off okay. I came here to have a beer and enjoy the Warriors vs. the Blazers game.I had a couple of their weak AMFs. The game ended and I decided to hang out a little long. The bar was pretty packed with young college kids. After coming from the bathroom I was asked by security to follow them outside for no reason. I followed just to find out what was going on. Then I was told to step away from the door. I asked what was going on the the security guard at the door. He said I was being kicked out but he didn't know why because I he only watches the door. Then he asked on the radio( or pretended to) and then told me the reason I was being kicked out was because I was bumping into people. I didn't bump into anyone and if I had I would have apologized. I have been to more crowded bars in this city and never had a problem with being told that I was "bumping in to people". Seeing how there was a full line outside I had to figure the only reason I was really getting kicked out was that an older(mid 30's) black guy dressed in sweats and t-shirt didn't fit the demographic of the bar(young white college students). Of course I won't be going back and will be seeing what other actions I can take because this is straight up B.S. So the 901 Bar and Grill ain't for you if you are...
Read moreHmmm... hole in the wall. It's uhh not a pleasant spot, overall. A) It's pricey. $15 for nasty bottom barrel tequila margarita. Close to $20 for 10 chicken wings. B) It's scammy. You pay a lot for a good drink. You get well liquor tastes like it sat in a plastic bottle for a while. C) It's unwelcoming. The staff are nice enough but seem fairly unhappy overall. I hear the owner is an absolute piece of work so that tracks. The doorman created an extremely unpleasant situation for a co-worker by falsely claiming he saw her getting beat up in the measly parking lot they have in the back. They went as far as calling the cops on my co-worker and her partner and claiming they have it on camera. They said she was being hit in a car in the parking lot meanwhile she was with us. I think the doorman was jealous of her partner. But that whole story carried into work with her for that month. Absolutely shameful of the doorman. D) The only nice thing is the DJ is good. But dude has to risk his life climbing a ladder to stand on a rickety platform above the floor to play music. Would not want to be caught up there during an earthquake. E) Parking is...
