Let me start by saying, yesterday was the very 1st time I ever stepped foot into this restaurant and was incredibly disappointed with the absolute lack of customer service. I am HUGE in providing at least, a decent amount of good customer service when going to eat at a restaurant. It just makes the dinning experience so much better! I was quite excited to give this place a try, given the cold weather and rain, anything warm sounded great! Upon arrival, we were not greeted pleasantly, or even asked if it was the 1st time at the restaurant? Just to know how the menu and process works. We were rushed to the table, rushed to order and the Woman (who I would imagine is the owner and goes by Jessica X). was NOT approachable at all. When I asked her questions about the menu, she was very passive and practically told us, if we were not ready, she would come back and NEVER did! Everything seemed to be RUSHED, RUSHED, RUSHED! She couldn't even take our drink order or offered us a water pitcher as every other table had one. We eventually had a nice gentleman (assumed to be the owner's husband), ask us if we wanted a water pitcher for the table and brought it over immediately. Eventually our order was taken by when seemed to be teenaged kids, who also ended up getting our to-go order wrong and had a confused face going on the whole time. The ambience was ok, and the food was good, but I definitely would give this place a negative -5 rating in customer service. As I still found myself getting up from my table to get more napkins, forks, spoons, because they were not coming around for us to be able to ask for such requests. They were quick to rush you and for you to pay your bill, but to not check in and see how the table was doing? Not cool at all! Granted, we would imagine the rush was due to the 90 minute notice. However, while we were under 90 minute mark, the owner (assumed to be Jessica X), began to clean up our table, without saying one word, basically rushing us to leave... While we were still waiting for our to-go order to arrive, that took longer than expected, due to the staff messing up our to-go order and she STILL has the audacity to ask if we had ordered something to-go? As if we wanted to stick around, just because we wanted to hold the table all to ourselves. And then she asked her staff to check on the to-go order, as she needs to the table. Mind you, the restaurant was NOT busy at all, and to be treated that way? That alone, was incredibly unprofessional, as a business owner, it just shows how incredibly "money hungry" you are. Not to mention what a disrespectful thing to say to any paying customer for such crappy service. Do yourself a favor, avoid this place at all cost!!! Unless you want to receive top tier terrible customer service! Incredibly rude and rotten people running...
Read moreMy husband and I are addicted to this great restaurant and excellent food. We eat at Aki Shabu in North Hollywood most weeks. “All you can eat” comes with a big variety of veggie’s & noodles, and rice, delicious hot & cold appetizers, raw fish, crab, & shrimp. Only beverages are not included. You can reorder the meat or order different meats and take as many appetizers and vegetables as you can eat. My eyes are usually bigger than my stomach - but be aware: there is an additional charge of $5.99 per plate left over. The dessert - strawberry ice cream - can not be reordered. “All you can eat” should implicate it too, but there are very strict in giving you just one portion of the refreshing ice cream. The service is great, the owners polite & helpful, he appetizers are perfect; it’s a clean restaurant, the big variety of food is always fresh & delicious, the atmosphere relaxed and fun. Sometimes a little bit noisy, depending on the guests. Just be aware of a waiting line in the evening if you are fewer than 4 people. Groups of 4 people & more can make a reservation...
