Good: Decent bagels. Decent pizza. Extremely well priced for the area. Clever menu items like pizzettes and mini pizza bagels. Lots of unique stuff on the menu that you won't find elsewhere.
Cons: Staff struggles to pay attention to the details. Every time I go in there, there's a mistake made by someone along the line, and I have to ask them to correct an issue, remake an item or finish the order in full. For example, in my most recent order, they didn't cut the bagel sandwich in half. Nothing massive and certainly not the end of the world, but annoying nonetheless. These little details add up.
It's a new shop so these details can be hard to work out but having to correct issues is exhausting as a customer, and definitely tarnished the impression of the place. If they can iron out these little issues, they'll be onto something great.
Honestly I think there just needs to be stronger management, the restaurant itself exudes a chaotic energy. Need a calm, certain presence to make things run more smoothly.
Anyway, overall a decent shop with room for improvement. The highlight is definitely the food itself; the main area for improvement is finding a way to ameliorate the disorganization and chaos from behind the counter. Read moreBagels + Slice is a true culinary gem that effortlessly combines two classic comfort foods. Their bagels are a revelation - fresh, chewy, and boasting a perfect crust. The scallion cream cheese is a standout, creating an irresistible pairing with the everything bagel. But the magic doesn't stop there.
Their breakfast sandwiches are a must-try, with generous egg fillings that will leave you feeling satisfied. And when you crave something different, their Neapolitan-style pizzas are a delightful surprise. The mushroom pizza was a standout for me, but the jalapeño and spicy sausage options also pack a flavorful punch.
Don't miss out on their other delectable offerings like the blueberry cream cheese - a sweet and tangy treat - and the chorizo bagel sandwich featuring imported Oaxaca chorizo, a bold and authentic flavor combination. Bagels + Slice is a must-visit for bagel and pizza lovers alike!
Have you tried their coffee or...
Read moreGreat place to grab a bite while waiting for the coffee line to shrink at Quat. Had nothing to do with Bagel + Slice, but I faced a quandary while sitting outside waiting for my/our order (great outdoor seating here). I have long identified as a vegetarian, but I made an apparent promise (which I do not remember) to my mother that I would eat salmon for health reasons. So, who am I? What am I? The word pescatarian—it terrifies me. Am I a flesh eater? I pass no judgement on those who consume flesh—this is a me thing, something I read too much about. And, heck, I feel guilt for not being vegan. But should this me about me? It should about others, life should be about others, and, in this case, mother. So did I really eat the Lox? Yes. But did I eat it for myself? Did gluttony drive me to eat the Lox? I’d like to say no. But maybe that doesn’t matter.
The salt...
