Julie Montenegro - State Farm Insurance Agent — Local services in Los Angeles

You've probably seen her fliers all over Highland Park. Seems legit from afar but I would think twice before coming here. We will be contacting State Farm directly about their agent here. My dad had insurance with them for about two years. Every six months his rates would increase without any accidents or tickets. He would go in and pay his premium every month at the office. And then got talked in to going on autopay with his debit card. BIGGEST MISTAKE EVER! Earlier this year, he found a better rate with AAA and switched his insurance. He went into the office to let them know he would not be renewing and the person in the office told him he couldn't cancel because he had a contract. Last time I checked, you have the right to change insurance companies anytime you'd like. But this person told him she couldn't do anything because he had a contract for insurance with him. He told them he had another insurance company already and they said it didn't matter. He left and called back a few days later and they told him that his policy had been cancelled. Great!.... Until his debit card gets charged the renewal amount. Contact Julie and she was trying to be helpful and says she doesn't see anything. Call the bank and they had a $137 charge to state farm. We waited a few weeks to see if it was a mistake and if it would be credited back. Nothing. Contact this office again. Julie asks to get copies of the bank transaction because she has nothing for this charge, Send her the info that confirms the charge. Still does nothing. Says that she shows nothing and thats pretty much it. Even with proof of the charge... they are unwilling to help or credit the money back. If you contact state farm, they are useless. They say to contact the agent. Well when the agent doesn't do anything either. My recommendation is STAY AWAY!! And if you want to use state farm, then find an agent who can help you resolve issues. Or if you use this agent... DO NOT use their auto pay plan!!! This is an issue with a payment. I couldn't imagine the run around if you needed them to assist with a bigger...
