I ordered the following
Jamón ibérico 3oz (60$) - 2/5 Queso (3 for 20) - 1/5 Croquetas - 4/5 best thing I had there Pan con tomate - 2/5 Patatas bravas - 2/5 Tostada almejas - 3/5 2 different wines - 2/5 My decision to rate it a 1 for food is because of the price.
The only dish that is worth eating is the tostadas de almejas. However the bread was not crispy enough. The interior texture is MUCH too soft and soggy so the tomate really makes it difficult to eat without getting messy.
The batatas bravas…. Potatoes cooked fine, but lacked texture on the outside, but the sauce on the side made it difficult to eat. Usually the aolie is drizzled on it to make it easier to eat. The way it was presented is not ideal for actually eating. The salsa brava was anything but brava. Very mild in flavor and zero spice. Deconstruction wasn’t necessary.
The cheeses were awful. Honestly not very good selection. I’d skip all of them.
The pan the tomate is too soggy. Would be better if you serve the tomate, garlic, little olive oil drizzler, and salt. Also serve a bigger portion. Price is insane for just a single toast cut in half. Source from a different vendor if needed
The wine very meh. Honestly reminded me of Californian wine and not actually Spanish style.
Overall, very over priced. Not good Spanish food.
Also the atmosphere IS NOT FOR A DATE. Mostly where the girlies would go to go have dinner. You won’t be able to actually talk to the person you’re with
Total price 210$+. Insane for such little food price. Big skip for me. I’d go somewhere in Korean...
Read moreBar Siesta in Silver Lake, from the same owner as Botanica, offers an exceptional dining experience. It was easy to get a reservation, and I went with friends from Argentina and Spain who are now based in the U.S. The food was outstanding—thoughtfully curated, not overly oily or salty like in many traditional Spanish dishes. We tried the ventresca (tuna belly) served with mojo verde, a vibrant Canarian-inspired sauce, which added a delightful spicy punch. The tortilla, served with aioli (a surprise even to my Spanish friend), was perfectly executed, as was the pan con tomate—warm, crispy, and flavorful. The clams toast was a standout with its bold, complex flavors, and the locally sourced beans from a family producer were a lovely touch. Dessert was just as impressive: the olive oil ice cream with a hint of coffee liqueur and the almond cake were both refined, not overly sweet, and the perfect way to end the meal. Everything felt healthy yet indulgent. The ambiance is perfect for a casual drink or a full meal—especially on the terrace. I’m already looking forward to coming back in the spring to enjoy it all over again. Highly recommend Bar Siesta for those who value flavor and quality over...

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Bar Siesta, and I must say, it was an unforgettable experience! The moment we walked in, we were embraced by the cozy and lively atmosphere that immediately set the tone for a wonderful evening.
The staff at Bar Siesta are genuinely welcoming and provided a good customer service, making sure every need was met.
Now, let's talk about the tapas—oh, the tapas! Each dish was a delightful explosion of flavors, but a few stood out as absolute favorites: the croquetas were creamy and crispy, the setas al ajillo were perfectly garlicky and tender, and the Basque cheesecake was a divine finish to the meal.
Complementing our meal was a selection of wines that truly enhanced the dining experience. The Rosé Tempranillo paired exquisitely with the cheeses, matrimonio, and gambas, making every bite a harmonious celebration of tastes.
Bar Siesta has truly won our hearts, and we can't wait to return. I highly recommend this gem of a restaurant to anyone looking for a memorable dining experience....
